Picture Yourself Here
Growing up, Bronx native Onika Grant was sure she wanted to be a pediatrician. But after seeing TV shows such as NCIS, Law and Order, and Forensic Files, she became hooked.
“I just couldn’t change the channel. I was like, ‘If this show is on, I’m watching it.’ I’m sure that this is what I want to do.”
The president of the Alfred State Dance Team, Grant said she wants to become involved in either serology or trace evidence once she graduates from Alfred State, where she is working on making her dream a reality through applied learning.
“I’m taking chemistry classes, forensic classes, and biology labs, and they give you a feel of what to expect when you’re in the real world.”
The atmosphere, beautiful natural surroundings, and helpful faculty are just some of the reasons Grant enjoys being a student at Alfred State.
“Coming here made me be able to do stuff on my own. I’m more independent, and I really like that aspect of myself.”
»All costs subject to change.

your field.
But don’t just take our word for it... tim Haefele of CisCO

not have to do much
to train them. They
come in and hit the

Alfred State’s out-of-state baccalaureate cost for tuition and fees is 22% lower than the national average.
“Have you checked out Alfred State’s
scholarship opportunities? They even have
one specifically for out-of-state students!”
“Alfred State is committed to expanding out-of-state student enrollment. We’re pleased that SUNY has given the College flexibility to reduce the out-of-state tuition rate for associate degree programs. We have made the decision to set the out-of-state associate degree rate at the lowest allowable level. This also benefits those interested in baccalaureate programs, since students can save significant dollars by starting in the corresponding associate degree before completing their final two years.”
