Today’s Preacher
The preacher for today’s worship is the Reverend Thom Thornton. Thom and his family joined Inman First Baptist in September. Thom has worked in Evangelism and Student Ministry for over 25 years, serving in collegiate ministry in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland and Tennessee. His most recent service was as the University Baptist Chaplain for Vanderbilt University. Thom’s wife, Lori, is a school-based therapist. He and Lori have two children, Katie and David. Katie is in college in Nashville. David is a student at Chapman High School. Thom prepared academically for his ministry by completing a Master of Divinity degree with The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His ministry goal is to equip those around him through teaching, exhortation and personal example to be about the work of ministry to which God has uniquely called each of us. He believes a minister is entrusted by the Lord to feed, nurture, challenge and care for people while also reaching out to the lost and ministering to people in their community with and through grace, mercy and the love of the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ.
