Remote Causes of WW2

•D. Treaty of Versailles - one provision was that Germany accepts sole responsibility for being cause of WW1.- they must pay 134billion marks for the war damages to other countries.- Germany did not agree

• Failure of the League of Nations– would discuss problems among

other countries and decide what should be done to promote peace

– Allied became passive with the agression of the Axis Powers

• Europe– Invasion of Poland in 1939– It started in Sept. 1 – Oct. 6, 1939.

– Attack at Pearl Harbor in Dec. 7, 1941– with almost 200 Japanese fighter

planes– 21 American ships and 188 fighter

planes were destroyed– almost 3,000 American soldiers were

killed
