President’s Message
ADSA Board meeting was held in Calgary on May 13. The meeting went very well. ADSA has approved to proceed with bid for hosting 2021 World Deaf Curling Championships in Calgary. ADSA sponsors the Canada Deaf 55+ Games which will be held in Edmonton on August 13-17, 2017. We are looking forward to having 15 feet ADSA logo on the ASD gym wall and paint new lines for 3 Pickleball courts on the gym floor this summer. Hopefully the gym construction will be completed in early September. Alberta Deaf Golf Club (ADGC) is in progress with bid for hosting 16th Canadian Deaf Golf Championships 2023 in Edmonton. The bid procedure will be held in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec this summer on July 24 – Canadian Deaf Golf Association AGM. We are looking forward the annual ADGC Spring Golf Tournament on June 24th in Stettler, AB with new addition of a new Super Senior (65+) Category trophy in honour of Frank Lilley. We have named it the Lilley Cup, see the picture in next few pages. Have a nice summer!

Mary Dyck, Canada Deaf Women’s and Men’s Volleyball Team Manager, attended the U18 Women’s National Volleyball Championship hosted at the
Saville Centre in Edmonton on May 4th and 5th, 2017.
The goal was to get more attention for CDSA and ADSA to encourage more players to participate in competitive volleyball at national and international level.
Mary spoke to 17 people who asked many questions and found 2 female players.
ADSA sends gratitude and thank you to Mary for her efforts to get more volleyball players to represent Canada during championships.
