To celebrate World Book Day we had a
Literary Clue Game for a bit of fun.
Thank you to Kristian and Oisin for
hiding posters all over the school!
Five pupils won a £10 voucher for solving the Literary Clue Game:.
Year 8 decided what the prizes would be.

BBC 500 Words Competition
Well done to everyone who took part in this year’s 500 words short story competition.
This year we had a record number of entries!
Entrants will find out in early April if they have been long-listed from the first round of
marking and the top 25 in the 10-13 category will be notified in May.
The top 25 from age 10-13 will be invited to attend the 500 words final in London on
Friday 16th June which will be broadcast live on the Chris Evan’s Breakfast Show on Radio 2.

BBC Young Writer’s Award
The BBC Young Writers' Award 2017 is open for submissions!
The award is open to all young people aged 14 to 18.
All you have to do is create a story of up to 1000 words on any topic.

Carnegie Medal Shadowing and Children’s Books Ireland Shadowing
Book Club have started reading the
shortlisted titles from this year’s
Carnegie Medal and the
Children’s Books Ireland Awards.
We will vote for our favourite in May and
the winner will be announced at a book
club party in June!

connected to the Carnegie awards.
