Dallas Cup Mission Statement
Celebrating Four Decades: 1980 - 2017
Since 1980, the Dallas Cup has hosted teams and officials from six
continents, 100 countries and 48 states, making it the oldest and most
prestigious international youth soccer tournament in the nation.
Held in Dallas each spring from Palm
Sunday through Easter Sunday, the
invitation-only Dr Pepper Dallas Cup is
recognized as one of the most elite youth tournaments in the world.

The Dallas Cup alumni list is a virtual “Who’s Who” of hundreds of
international soccer superstars who have combined to play in over
450 FIFA World Cup matches.

The 2017 Gordon Jago Super Group was headlined by the world-renowned Manchester
United academy. Also competing were defending champions Everton FC (England),
two-time Super Group champs Coritiba FC (Brazil), 2016 U.S. National Champions
FC Dallas (USA), and 2016 Liga MX champions Tigres (Mexico), among others.

Partnerships with referee academies from around the globe give
the Dallas Cup its international reputation of having the absolute
best officiating of any youth soccer tournament in the world.
For Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXVIII, an all-star team made up of
U.S. based players was selected from the U16 age bracket.
The 18 player Dallas Cup all-star team will travel to Spain and
Portugal in August to play exhibition matches and train at the
Real Madrid and S.L. Benfica academies.
2015 Dallas Cup all-star and FC Dallas academy standout, Paxton Pomykal, announced the 2017 all-star team on
Dallas Cup’s social media.
The Dallas Cup experience is more than just about competition at the
highest level. Participants learn important life lessons with visits to
children’s hospitals, advocacy centers, schools, and homeless shelters.
Community Involvement
Through the Dallas Cup Home Stay
program and our Dallas Is Diversity
charity, more than 20,000 children in
North Texas are culturally and
artistically enriched annually.
In 2015, the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup
established the June Jago Memorial
fund, supporting the Dallas Fallen
Officer Foundation.
The Dallas Is Diversity Calendar
initiative partners with local school
districts to recognize art teachers and
give thousands of students the
opportunity to win financial scholarships.
Cultural and Charity Initiatives
In keeping with its mission, the 2017 Dr Pepper Dallas
Cup provided participating teams with community
outreach opportunities at local schools and hospitals.

Thousands of 5th-12th graders from local school districts participated in the Dallas is Diversity Calendar Artwork
Project. Five students were chosen to receive scholarships for their outstanding talent showing their vision of how
soccer brings the world together.
Dr Pepper Dallas Cup’s June
Jago Memorial Fund raised
money thanks to multiple
fundraising activities
throughout the tournament.
The fund supports the Dallas
Fallen Officer Foundation.
The Dallas Cup receives widespread news coverage, including daily
features nationally on Univision Deportes Network. The 2017 Dr Pepper
Dallas Cup included international coverage on Manchester United TV.
Media Coverage
A new partnership with Univision Deportes Network in 2017 resulted in
unprecedented national network coverage, including four nationally
televised matches for Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXVIII.
Top level network talent, featuring Enrique
Bermudez and Hristo Stoichkov, was used
during all games nationally broadcast by
Univision Deportes Network.
