F.No. Dir./ workshop/ 44.02/ 2019-20 26/08/2019
Dear Colleague: Departments of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmaceutical chemistry of this institute are collaborating with RI Instruments & Innovations India, Haldwani, Uttarakhand to conduct a National workshop on ‘Indian Designed Cost effective Raman and Fluorescence Spectroscopy’ on 4th & 5th October 2019. The topic of the above workshop has been chosen carefully considering the fact that spectroscopy is being taught in a number of programmes including M.Sc. Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharma chemistry, Biotechnology and Microbiology. Raman and Fluorescence Spectroscopy find a very important place in modern era of spectral techniques and from time to time new innovations are being made to make these techniques very cost effective and approachable. RIMS Modular Spectroscopic work station is unique of its kind and first time introduced by RI Instruments and Innovation India to the world. This machine is capable of measuring parameters like Raman, Fluorescence along with absorbance, transmittance, reflectance, irradiance, CRI, spectro electrochemistry etc. Since the Spectrophotometer is a very expensive instrument the students never have an opportunity to get an exposure to work on it. It will be a unique experience of h-o-T for the students under the guidance of the scientists and engineers from RI Instruments & Innovations India and our senior faculty. Dr. Rajendra Pd. Joshi, Founder & CEO, RI Instruments & Innovation India along with his team of trainers will be present on both days of the workshop. The workshop shall be limited to about 100 PG students and faculty, of which 25% seats are reserved for the participants from remote area colleges from Uttarakhand. We feel pleasure in forwarding you the formal curriculum and registration form for the workshop, and extend a warm invitation for participation you and your eligible students. With best regards,
Yours truly,
(Dr. Arun Kumar) Director & Convener Workshop

pectroscopy is the study of the interaction between matter and
electromagnetic radiation. Spectroscopy is used in physical and Sanalytical chemistry because atoms and molecules have unique spectra.
As a result, these spectra can be used to detect, identify and quantify information
about the atoms and molecules. Raman and Fluorescence Spectroscopy find a
very important place in modern era of spectral techniques and from time to time
new innovations are being made to make these techniques very cost effective
and approachable. RIMS Modular Spectroscopic work station is unique of its
