When you draw a conclusion youuse 2 things:

What you know in your headand

What youve read in the story

A conclusion is the decision you

come to when you put these two

    together.

    By: Jay Silvosa Ayap

Voltaire Bugoy de Cruz, Jr. is his fullname. At one glance he was a normalstudent, a darling to his parents, a preciousgem to his teacher Mr. Jose De Maculata.

Apart from Bugoys innocent looks is his

unquestionable passion for playing computergames. This is his dark side... a shadyaspect of life that was dappled by hisparentsprotective cloak of pampering.

    Vagrant Bugoy

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    13/31

Everything is perfect for Bugoy. The

scheme works perfectly that he thinks he isnot vulnerable to Mr. De Maculatasmeticulous eyes. Like any normal school boyhe would prepare for school in the morning

and went home after classes wereconducted. His parents were proud of himand invested in him a future decent forevery average Filipino.

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    14/31

One day, Mr. De Maculatas attention was

focused on the fourth chair on the third row inhis right. He was wondering who is assignedon that chair.AmeliaMr. De Maculata gentlysummoned the class beadle. They are into the

third quarter of the school year andattendances to classes were deemed critical.

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    15/31

Who is seated on that chair? He was

referring to Bugoys seat. Bugoy sir Shepolitely replied.Andwhere was he?Nobodyin the room dared to answer. Nobody seemsto know the exact answer. As silence almost

cloaked the class, the teacher was left with nooption but to continue the lesson scheduledon that day.

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    16/31

The event triggered Mr. De Maculata torefer Bugoys desaparicin to his fellowteachers. But nobody has enough wisdom to

exactly explain the phenomenon. Ms. RitaRamos once noted Bugoy going hometogether with his classmates in a Jansportback pack and wearing a complete uniform!

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    17/31

She was too cautious uttering any wordbecause she knows Mr. and Mrs. Voltaire deCruz reputation in the community. They are

respected. They are active members of thechurch they joined in, own a stable businessand are both active in a Non-GovernmentalOrganization based in their province.

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    18/31

Mr. De Maculata is now snooping on hisquestion. Where could this kid be?Drivenby his pure intention to know the truth, he

sent a letter to Bugoysparents.Imust knowit soon!the teacher excitedly claimed.

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    19/31

Our son is this barrios future finest

lawyer. All of our future notarial task will bein his hands!this was the opening statementof Bugoysparents upon entering the parent-teachers conference hall. What made you

call our attention Mr. De Maculata? Did ourunico hijo bother you or his classmates? This was the second statement given beforethe worried teacher could exchange adialogue. Hewas not in my class for a weekor more nowsaid the teacher.

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    20/31

Oh where could he be? a shameful

gesture on Bugoysfather is evident as he leftahead in desperation. He canttake it. Mrs. deCruz was further informed that Voltaire deCruz, Jr. her unico hijo is in a critical point

where failing is really possible. This statementmade her follow her husband who was in thewaiting car.

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    21/31

Mr. De Maculata was half full and halfempty on what to do this time. He knewsomething must be doneIt was 3 dayssince that thorny conference occurred. Hewas summoned to the reality when a

familiar honk of a car sounded at theschools gate. The de Cruzs were back! This must be trouble. They are back formore complications.

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    22/31

He went ahead to the conference roomand politely greeted the visitors. The Cruzs, including Bugoy, stooped in courtesy and Mr.de Cruz broke the silence. We sincerelyapologized for the misbehavior of our son, Mr.

De MaculataWe recently found out that itsthe fault of our son. He was addicted tocomputer games that his whole time forclasses were devoted lately with it. We are

here to ask help from you to put back our sonon the right track.

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    23/31

    For Mr. De Maculata, that

was the sweetest thing heheard from a parent half hisprofessional career. He wasdumbfounded but before he

became incapacitated withthe overwhelming scenario,he finally uttered:YesMr. deCruz! Why not? Definitely

    yes!

  • 8/11/2019 Drawing Conclusions.pdf

    24/31

As both parties bid farewell, Bugoy sworehe would not do it again and would make upfor the academic losses he had. His eyessparkledit glowed an assurance that

somedaysomehow a bright future awaitshim. TrulyVerilyPositively.

    End.
