Official DesignationThe Drilling Systems Automation Body of Knowledge(DSABOK™) is hereby established as an independentorganization run by a Program Manager and supported byvolunteers. This organization has no official registration ordesignation. The DSABOK™ content is steered by avolunteer Steering Committee.
PurposeThe scope & purpose of the DSABOK™ website is to providea portal for connectivity to knowledge on Drilling SystemsAutomation (DSA) either though links to other publications /websites or through direct publication on the DSABOK™website

AffiliationsThe DSABOK™ will affiliate with multiple organizations whichshare knowledge on DSA to ensure legitimate links to theirknowledge, offer to publish their knowledge and to invitethem to participate on the Steering Committee. The SteeringCommittee shall approve all affiliations on behalf of theDSABOK™.
Operating GuidelinesThe DSABOK website is governed by a Steering Committeewho operate on a majority vote. The main functions of thisSteering Committee are to:
1. Review and approve the DSABOK™ website structure2. Review and approve new affiliations to the DSABOK™3. Review and approve publications on the DSABOK™website4. Steer and guide the overall content and linkages on theDSABOK™ website particularly with regard to equality ofopportunity to share information
Membership and OrganizationThe Program Manager is the President of DE WARDT ANDCOMPANY, John de Wardt (2018 – ) until superseded eitherthrough resignation or unanimous vote by the SteeringCommittee to terminate this position. The SteeringCommittee will be composed of respected industry leaderswith a track record of accomplishing and completing tasksinvolving contributors from different companies andbackgrounds. The Steering Committee shall be comprised ofexperts representing the various segments that are active in

DSA as well as each Affiliate to the DSABOK.
The initial Steering Committee was formed by the ProgramManager from representatives on the DSA-R SteeringCommittee. The Steering Committee will decide by majorityvote new additions to the Steering Committee as well asterminations of positions on the Steering Committee.
FundingThe DSABOK is a spin off from the DSA Roadmap Industryinitiative (DSA-R). The DSA-R became an IADC DECapproved JIP for both round 1 and round 2 funding. TheDSA-R JIP funds and DE WARDT AND COMPANY fundspaid for the launch of this DSABOK™. The DASBOK™ willcontinue to seek funding to cover web hosting, webdeveloper support, Program Manager to manage theprogram including posting content on the website and anyother associated costs with maintaining a high calibrewebsite.
