Demodulation is done by multiplying
the DSB-SC signal with the carrier signal. For demodulation, the modulation oscillator's frequency and phase must be exactly the same as the demodulation oscillator's otherwise, distortion and/or attenuation will occur. DSB-SC can be demodulated if modulation index is less than unity.
Demodulation
Designing the DSB-SC demodulation
circuit with the matlab program requires to design the DSB-SC modulation circuit first, design DSB-SC demodulation circuit second, then connect the output of the modulator circuit to the input of the demodulator circuit.
Choose the components from the Simulink Library Browser as shown in the following figures:
