15:00–16:30 Mandatory Driver’s Weigh-In & Sign OnOutdoor Kartdrome Reception. Drivers will be weighed with racing gear: suit, boots, rib protector, neck brace and helmet ONLY. Drivers failing to report to weigh-in will not be eligible to drive. Minimum drivers weight with above described race wear is 80kgs.

16:00–16:30 Mandatory Team Captains’ Briefing Outdoor Kartdrome Briefing Area.

16:45–17:45 Free Practice Only drivers with wristbands will be allowed to practice.

18:00–18:10 Qualifying All karts together for 10 minutes only.

18:15–18:45 Grid Walk & Team Photos

18:50 Starting Grid All drivers in position and evacuation of the grid.

19:00 Start: Dubai Kartdrome Endurance Championship 600 Laps.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Pit items will be available on Friday morning from 08:00-09:30. Pit items can be collected only on Friday as per allocated time slot.

Event Overview

• Maximum number of teams is 30 per race.

• Pro Ranking: 3-6 drivers

• Corporate Ranking: 4-8 drivers, all from the same company.

• Nations Cup Category: all drivers of the same nationality.

• Racing is on the International Circuit at the Outdoor Kartdrome.

• Use of SodiKart 390cc single engine karts.

• Allocated karts will be drawn by ballot.

• No technical modifications allowed to be made.

• A rolling start or Le Mans start will be employed.

• Drivers must be age 13 or over.

• Parental consent required for under 18 aged drivers.

• Drivers will have to wear full safety equipment.

• Stickers allowed on bodywork in agreed areas.

• Fuel supplied by organisers, no additives allowed.

• Kart / Driver weight equalization with ballast weights.

The Emirates Group Karting Club will go into Round 2 of the Dubai Kartdrome Endurance Championship after a strong finish in the season opener.

Having taking part in SWS races in Dubai and RAK, Team Emirates and Fly Emirates are nationally ranked second and third respectively in the Sodi World Series Endurance Cup in the UAE.

Although Panasonic Avionics Corporation continues to support Emirates teams, this year they have lodged their own experimental entry which comprises of six colleagues with a range of racing pedigree. This is a truly international team made up of five different nationalities!

Team Captain, Tom, is most familiar with TKM based Club100 series in the UK. Neil has raced in many series from ROTAX in the early days to BMW cars in California recently. Humberto and Gael, both ROTAX kart owners, have experience racing in France. Tim, a Kiwi, has talent on all sorts of wheels, from bikes, to quads and is now an X30 owner driver. Johan, from Belgium, prefers more power and is the proud owner driver of a DD2 found at the Kartdrome.

Although racing primarily for fun, a top five finish in the Corporate class would be a good result.

The Aussies (Damian and Adrian) are former business partners as crocodile hunters and game keepers. The Irishman (Fergal) is sometimes referred to as the Leprechaun or the Lucky Charm. There’s second tallest man in Estonia and ex-surfing champion (Heiki) and finally the smiling Pakistani (Imran) who can be seeing playing the piano or juggling in the pit lane to calm his nerves. Combined, this is the most awesome racerz that will ever come before your eyes.

This team’s shared passion is racing and making sure they have as much fun as possible along the way. Come experience it yourself in the pit lane, but when the flag drops the joking stops.

Crackerjack Racing returns once again to the endurance series with our expectations matched only by our driving talent. In previous events we aimed to showcase cutting edge driving skills and best in class tactics, but experience is a cruel teacher and for this race our aim is simply not to finish last! We believe like the great Confucius, that beauty and poetry is achieved at a slow pace, not by a foolish rush to the finish line.

Note: The team offers its unreserved apology for making false and misleading statements in the previous race biography when we stated that we had an experienced and world class pit crew. Regrettably, we discovered none had been to a karting track before or even seen a go kart. However, after a few Spinney’s best cheese sandwiches and some super precise (i.e. lucky) pit changes, the magic finally happened!
