What a great week to celebrate success—Congratulations to Ella Murray who represented NSW in the National PSSA Golf Tournament in South Australia. NSW tied for 1st with Victoria and unfortunately lost on a count back. Ella had rounds of 82 and 94 scratch. Her handicap is now 19 which she has dropped by 5 strokes. Thank you to Mrs Anette Geering who accompanied them. A wonderful effort by all of these students!! Homework Procedures for 2017 have been ratified at the last P&C meeting. Please see the attached document and suggested organisation. All students will receive a 1 page homework grid providing 3 mandatory and 3 choice activities based around classroom literacy/numeracy,

Positive Behaviour for Learning This week we are focusing on the 'no hat no play’ expectation at break times. Students have been exploring why it is important to be sun safe and to slip, slop, slap, seek and slide during the hot weather. Parents are encouraged to look up the Cancer Council NSW school section website www.cancercouncil.com.au/sunsmart. Use the following questions as a guide: What is UV Radiation? Why is sun protection important? What is the difference between natural shade and constructed shade? What is sunburn? All students should have a hat and drink bottle at school each day!

3/4L & 5/6S Grey Crowned Babbler Expo During the semester 3/4L and 5/6S have been experimenting with Project Based Learning. In conjunction with Western Plains Zoo, students have

been creating a conservation campaign designed to educate the local community about threats to the Grey Crowned Babbler. We will be holding an Expo at school to showcase the students’ hard work this Thursday the 24th of November from 11.15am until 12.15pm. The expo will be held in 3/4L and 5/6S’s classrooms with stalls set up outside the rooms as well. All are invited to view an array of projects including books, artworks, advertising, fundraising, mockumentaries and much, much more. We look forward to seeing you there!

Stage 1 News Year 2 Swimming Program: A little reminder to make sure your child has their swimmers, towel, sunscreen and a hat, making sure they are all clearly marked with your child’s name.

NO LUNCH ORDERS PLEASE!

Little Big Dairy Visit to Kindergarten! Thank you to Emma from Little Big Dairy who visited Kindergarten students last Friday afternoon. Emma spoke to us about her farm and showed us pictures of the milking process. We also got to taste their delicious flavoured milk! Did you know that there are over 900 cows at the dairy and they each have a name. The cows are milked 3 times a day and Little Big Dairy milk is sold all over NSW.

Talent Quest News The annual school talent quest will be held on the 16th December (last day of school). Audition slips were handed out on Friday outlining your child’s

audition day and time. The cost of the audition is $1.00 payable on the day of the audition. Students will be informed if they are in the final in Week 8. Thank you Martel Farrell
