Apologies for any inconvenience caused to parents however, we have renovations currently being carried out in the school office. I have planned for a larger front office foyer to allow community and parents to wait in a little more space and comfort. It is the front of our school and important to be open, welcoming and practical. Thank you for your understanding. Music and Band Program has been struggling lately. We commenced with a strong commitment from parents and students however, for a variety of reasons, payment for tuition has been very slow coming into the school. Mr Screen our music instructor, is a highly qualified and successful musician and conductor who has been leading the tutoring of band, African drumming and recorder. Sadly due to the lack of response all music programs delivered by Mr Screen will be terminated at the end of this term. I am requesting that all payments be finalised by the end of this term. My apologies to those parents and students who contribute regularly. Individual lessons may still be supplied by Mr Screen. A huge thank you to Mrs Anette Geering for her coordination of the program and to Mrs Lindy Blekemore for the administration and of course Mr Screen. We have

e-books There are over a thousand e-books that students can access free from our school subscription. Download the app for tablets. Use your child’s school username and password. There is a link on the school website.

Multi-use Library: The library is open each

morning from 9.00 until just before the bell.

Students come to the library to read, draw, chat, use computers and play with the construction toys. There are always a few students borrowing as well. We had some different faces in last week. Matthew, Josh, Riley, Declan and Ethan. When the weather is cold the library becomes a very popular place. It is great to see so many students enjoying our facilities. Sue Buttrey, Teacher Librarian

War on Waste Stages 1, 2 and 3 have the fantastic opportunity to view the documentary “War on Waste” rated PG to support our PBL expectations of respect, care, cooperation and responsibility. It highlights the responsibility we all have towards our environment and importance of working together in making a difference to protect our precious planet at both a personal, local, national and global level. Through this learning experience it is hoped that children will become more aware of the role they have to play at both home and school, as well as the power of working together to make a positive change as part of a group. Please return the permission note that was sent home last week to your child’s teacher. If you need another note please see Mrs Prince. Mrs Alexandra Prince

MC News Riding for the Disabled began last week and will continue throughout Term 2 and 3. This year we have 13 students attending this program. For most of these students it is the first time that they have been on a horse and are enjoying this experience. The students get to interact socially with the volunteers as they play various games that are designed to improve gross motor skills. We are very lucky to have a wonderful parent volunteer, Kathy Hewison, who is providing transport for the students to attend every week.
