A Ductless Heating and Cooling System is a highly efficient system that is easily installed as a new primary heat source for electrically heated homes. Ductless Heat Pump systems heat and cool homes at a fraction of the cost of baseboards and wall heaters. They are safer, quieter and heat rooms evenly (no more hot or cool spots).

WHY UPGRADE TO A DUCTLESS HEAT PUMP?• Save Energy & Money Every Month - 25% to 50% less to heat your home• Experience a More Comfortable Home• Low-Cost Easy Installation• System Comes Standard With Air Conditioning!

ARE YOU READY FOR AN UPGRADE?Electric baseboard and wall heaters can be an inefficient and uncomfortable heat source for homes. Cowlitz PUD is helping residential customers upgrade to a more energy efficient alternative, a Ductless Heating and Cooling System.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS (Effective October 1, 2019)• Existing site-built single-family residence • New or existing manufactured home• Existing heat must be either zonal electric heat (wall, baseboard or cable ceiling heat) or

electric forced air furnace• Ductless heat pump system must have a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of at least

9.0 for a single-head system or 8.0 for a multi-head system.• Ductless heat pump must be installed by a contractor that participates in the Northwest Ductless

Ductless Heat PumpDuctless heating and cooling systems utilize heat pump technology to distribute warm or cool air more quietly and efficiently than electric furnaces, baseboards and wall heaters. A qualified installer can help you choose the right ductless system and provide information about utility incentives and state and federal tax credits.

OUTDOOR UNITThe outdoor unit connects to the indoor unit with a small bundle of copper pipes, including a refrigerant line. The unit is placed outside of your home on ground level. The cables require only a three-inch hole in the wall for installation, eliminating the need for expensive and invasive ductwork.

INDOOR UNITKeeping your existing heating system in place ensures bedrooms and bathrooms remain at desired temperatures, while the centrally located ductless system keeps your home’s main living areas as warm or cool as you’d like. A remote control lets you easily adjust your system’s settings for maximum efficiency and comfort.

INSTALLATION1. An outdoor unit that sits on a concrete pad. 2. An indoor unit mounted high on a centrally located wall3. A remote control to adjust settings

Once your ductless heat pump is installed, simply set it to your preferred temperature and let it do the work.
