Megan Cooke Carcagno was named Duke University’s second head rowing coach on July 28, 2015, as announced by Duke Vice PresidentandDirectorofAthleticsDr.KevinWhite.CookeCarc-agno had spent the last seven years as a member of the Wisconsin coaching staff, including the 2015 season as associate head coach.

“Megan Cooke Carcagno is an outstanding addition to the Duke coaching staff as the head rowing coach,” Dr. White said. “Not only does she understand the tremendous effort it takes to become a world-classathlete,she isbright,enthusiastic,andcharismatic–andpreciselytherightfitforDukeRowingatthistime.Forseveralyears, Megan has played an integral role in the success of Wiscon-sin’s formidable rowing program. Her background as an elite com-petitor at California and the United States National Team, as well asher innateability torelateeasilywithtoday’sstudent-athletes,will serve Duke well as the head coach. We cannot wait for her to makeanimmediate–andpermanent–impactontheDukeRow-ing program.”

Cooke Carcagno replaces Robyn Horner, who retired in May of 2015 after starting the Blue Devil program and running it for 17 seasons.

“I have always looked at this university and athletic department with a sense of awe, and I am thrilled to now be a part of it,” Cooke Carcagno said. “After seeing how much the department was doing for the team, and how much enthusiasm and passion they had for the sport, I knew right away that Duke would be a great home for me.

“Ican’twaittotakethenextgiantstepwiththecurrentstudent-athletes, and make a huge push to turn Duke into a rowing pow-erhouse. The Duke student is known to be exceptional, and Duke Rowing will mirror those ambitions.”

Cooke Carcagno was with the Badger program for seven years, one as an associate head coach, one as a varsity assistant and fiveas the freshmencoach.Afterherfirstcampaign inMadison,shewasnamedthe2009CollegiateRowingCoachesAssociation(CRCA) Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year after directing the UW novice crews to Big Ten titles in the novice eight and sec-ondnoviceeighteventsin2009.Thenoviceeightalsotookfirstinthe NCAA Central Regional regatta.

She earned a second CRCA Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2012 and was nominated again in 2015.

In the spring of 2015, Cooke Carcagno helped the Badgers en-sure their eighth consecutive NCAA Championship selection and primarily coached the second varsity eight, which placed ninth at the NCAA Championship.

DuringeachofherfiveseasonscoachingtheUWfreshmen,hernovice eight placed in the top three at the Big Ten championships, whilethesecondnoviceeightwonfourtitlesandfinishedsecondthe other season. In 2010, Cooke Carcagno helped the UW novice crews to their fifth andeighthBigTen titles, respectively, on theway to a Big Ten Championship crown for Wisconsin in openweight rowing.ShealsodirectedthenoviceeighttoawininthegrandfinalandthesecondnoviceeighttoawininthepetitefinalattheNCAACentral/South Sprints.

Prior to joining Wisconsin, Cooke Carcagno coached for sixyears following her graduation from California. Her last stop before joining the collegiate rankings was with coaching masters rowers at the Carnegie Lake Rowing Association, USRowing’s Club of the Year.

She spent her first year out of Cal as an assistant freshmencoach for the Bears, while also coaching the Oakland Strokes, Inc. clubandatMarinRowingAssociationduringthe2002-03season.Cooke Carcagno moved on to New Jersey to train with the U.S. national team, all the while giving private instruction to numerous high school athletes in the region.

AsaroweratCal,CookeCarcagnotwiceearnedfirstteamAll-Americanhonorstogoalongwithapairoffirstteamall-regionandfirstteamAll-Pac10accolades.Co-captainasajuniorandsenior,she helped the varsity eight to third at the 2002 NCAA Champion-ships and fourth at the 2000 event.

Cooke Carcagno, a Los Gatos, Calif., native, spent four years withtheU.S.nationalteam,from2004-07.Aspartofthe2006U.S.World Champion women’s eight, she helped establish a world re-cordforTeamUSA.A2006Henley-on-Thameschampion,shealsowon a gold medal at the 2006 Lucerne World Cup in the women’s pair and a silver in the women’s four without coxswain at the 2001 WorldUnder-23Championships.

Cooke Carcagno earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in psychol-ogy from California in 2002.

Duke rowing head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno completed herfirstBlueDevilstaffAugust10,2015,withthehiringofChaseGraham.

Graham joins the Duke staff after four years as the head junior girls coach at the Saugatuck Rowing Club in Westport, Conn. He has been involved in the sport for 16 years.

With Saugatuck, Graham helped the 2015 varsity 8 and varsity lightweight 8 to the Youth National Championship. His varsity 8 wentundefeatedandtookfirstplaceat theHeadof theCharles,San Diego Crew Classic, Youth National Championship and Club National Championship.

A year earlier, in 2014, his varsity lightweight 8 claimed second place at the Youth National Championship while his 4+ was the Club National Champion.

GrahambeganrowingatParkersburgSouthHighSchool,wherehe competed for midwest and scholastic national championships. After high school Graham went on to row at Marietta College from 2003-07.Hewastheteam’sMostImprovedOarsmanrecipientin2004.

He rowed with the varsity 8 for three years and helped lead the team to a Varsity 8 Dad Vail Championship in 2006. Graham earned a bachelor’s degree in management and minor in sport management in 2007.

While pursuing a master’s in education, Graham continued training in the men’s pair and won a club national championship as well asclaiminga thirdplacefinishat theCanadianHenleyRegatta.During his time training and completing his education he served as a women’s graduate assistant coach at Marietta College for two years. Duringthattime,hehelpedleadhissquadtoaMidAtlanticDivision3 championship while also playing an important role in recruiting.

In2009,Grahambegancoachingthewomen’srowingprogramatFairfieldUniversity.DuringhisfirstyearatFairfield,heledhissquadtotheprogram’sfirstDadVailChampionship.

Graham was named the Saugatuck girls head coach in 2010. His crews have consistently earned medals at regattas such as Head of the Charles, Northeast Regional Championships and the Youth National Championships.

In 2013, Graham coached the women’s single at the Junior World Rowing Championships in Trakai, Lithuania.

Duke rowing head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno made Chuck Rodosky thefirstadditiontoherstaffonAugust7,2015.

In May of 2015, Rodosky completed his sixth season as an assistant coach atOhioState,workingprimarilywiththefirstandsecondnoviceeightcrewsas well as the varsity four. Rodosky capped his Buckeye career with his third consecutiveNCAAtitleasOhioStatebecamethefirstteaminNCAAhistoryto win three consecutive national championships. The Buckeyes claimed anindividualnationaltitleinthefirstvarsityeight,arunner-upfinishinthesecondvarsityeightandfifthplaceinthefirstvarsityfour.

Rodoskyhelpedthefirstnoviceeighttoasilvermedalandthesecondnovice eight to a bronze medal at the 2014 Big Ten Championships as Ohio State won its second consecutive Big Ten title and third in four years with a championship-record164points.AfterconqueringtheBigTen,theBuckeyeswere victorious at the NCAA championships for the second year in a row.

In2013,Rodoskyguidedthefirstnoviceeighttoasecond-consecutivegold medal at the Big Ten championships. The Scarlet and Gray went on to win the 2013 Big Ten Championship and the 2013 NCAA Championship.

At the 2012 Big Ten Championships, Rodosky led the Buckeyes to a goldmedalinthefirstnoviceeightandasilvermedalinthesecondnoviceeight.In2011,Rodoskycoachedthefirstnoviceeighttoasilvermedalandthe second novice eight to a bronze at the Big Ten championships. In 2010, Rodoskyguidedthefirstnoviceeighttoathird-placefinishandthesecondnoviceeighttoasecond-placeshowingattheBigTenchampionships.

PriortohisrolewithOhioState,RodoskyservedastheassistantcoachandrecruitingcoordinatorfortheIowawomen’srowingprogram(2006-10).RodoskyguidedtheHawkeyefirstnoviceeighttoathird-placefinishatthe2007 Big Ten Championships and the second novice eight to a third place at the 2008 Big Ten Championships.

Before coaching at Iowa, Rodosky was an assistant coach at Trinity CollegeinHartford,Conn.(2005-06).RodoskybroughtinanunprecedentedrecruitingclassintermsofnumbersastheBantamsfieldedafirstandsecondnoviceeightforthefirsttimeinprogramhistory.Thefirstnoviceeightfinishedthe season with an undefeated record, capturing a New England Rowing Conference championship and placing second at the ECAC championships. Trinityconcludedthe2006seasonwithathird-placeteamfinishattheNCAADivision III championships.

Rodosky began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach atOhioState. In his first three seasonswith theBuckeyes (2003-05),Rodoskyguidedseveralboatstotop-threefinishesatbothconferenceandregional championships. In 2005, the Scarlet and Gray second varsity four captured an Aramark South/Central Region Championship. As a team, OhioState concluded the 2005 seasonwith a fourth-place finish at theNCAAchampionships.Thefirstandsecondnoviceeightsfinishedsecondat the Central Region championships in 2003 and 2004, while the second varsity four and second novice eight both placed second at the 2003 Big Ten Championships.

Rodosky also has experience coaching at U.S. national development camps. He participated in the 2000 NYAC U.S. Development Camp as well as the 2001 Nereid U.S. Development Camp. He also holds US Rowing LevelIIIcoachingcertification.
