As we prepare for this year’s sale, we reflect on everything we have been a part of over the last year. Our calves saw great success in the hands of so many families. We invite you to join us September 26, 2015, for the 7th edition of our sale. We are excited to say the sale barn is now heated!
Our program has continued to grow, and more importantly, improve, with the addition of cows like Miss Yardley T42. We see great things to come. This spring we were back down in Utah buying the high selling Maine Anjou bull from Yardley’s Spring Bull Sale. I don’t care what breed you are part of or what type of cattle you raise, everyone that has come to meet our new herdsire has truly been impressed by him.
The year 2015 has been full of firsts: the first time offering any I-80 and Comfort Zone calves, the first shipment of Hall’s Crossing 454W semen to Australia, the first time implanting a large number of females with DRSS embryos, and the first time offering genetics through the Bright Lights sale at the National Western Stock Show in Denver.
We really are pleased to be able to offer a larger number of high quality Maine Tainer females this year. New this year, all females sold will come with AMAA papers. We have been working closely with the AMAA to be able to offer you EPD information on the offering. All of our herd sires and AI sires have been confirmed TH/PHA clean; this helps ensure each female sold is of the highest quality.
If you have any questions or would like to view the cattle please don’t hesitate to contact us. Kate and I look forward to seeing everyone on September 26.

The Kate’s Pick heifer follows the type and pattern of her mother extremely well. One of the most balanced females in the sale. She is thick and powerful yet feminine enough to be a lady. Her mother is one of the nicest uddered females we have ever produced. Her presence and personality will make her stand out in the show ring. Top notch show female here. T H F R E E / P H A F R E E

Over the last few years we have been watching the quality and consistency coming out of the Yardley Cattle Co program. Two years ago we had the opportunity to travel down to Southwest Utah and go through their cattle in the 2013 Focus on the Female sale. Miss Yardley T42 was our pick of the sale; a massive cow who is as structurally sound as you could ever ask for. After arriving in Canada, she calved what is now one of our new herd sires here at DRSS, known as DRSS The Immigrant 111B. T42 will play a massive roll in our herd over the coming years we are opening up the opportunity to share in the potential of this great cow.
Your choice of embryos sired by our great herd sire Hall’s Crossing 454W, or from one of the most talked about AI sires in North America, I-80.

We had some Monopoly semen in the tank from a few years ago. As more and more people started asking to buy it we knew there was a demand for it. Monopoly calves get harder and harder to find each year, and the price of his semen if you can find it, keeps going up and up. Wanting to maximize the semen we decided to use it for a flush. But which cow? There was only one cow we thought was worth the time and invest-ment. This female just seems to work no matter how we breed her. A few years ago she produced a Sunseeker steer that went on to be Supreme Champion in Lacombe and the following year a Hall’s Crossing steer that was the Open Champion in Lacombe as well. Each year she just seems to come back with the high sellers of our sale. She has also produced the high selling heifer, DRSS Legendary Princess 52A. This will be the last package offered of these embryos.

Consistent, That’s about all we can say and all we need to say about Remitall Queen 629S. Consistently producing athletic, high-perform-ing herd bulls. We walked a son of 629S known as Lonely Island. Lonely Island had the highest WPDA of all PB/FB/% Maine Anjou cattle at the 2012 Canadian Western Agribition. Needing to add per-formance and structural soundness?
Flushed to our great herd bull Daines Sir Dr Seuss 30T. The Dr Seuss females remain to be our favourite females in our herd today.
