GOLDFIELD DUPLEX JIGS

Goldfield duplex jigs have had a long and successful history in the recovery of gold,diamonds, gemstones and other minerals. Jigs are highly recommended by manyoperators because they provide superior gold recovery in situation where fine gold orsignificant amounts of blacks sands are present. Jigs also permit secure, continuouscleanup of concentrates. Goldfield manufactures duplex jigs in 30" and 42" models. Variable speed gear reducers are standard.

Main Features

HOW THE JIG WORKSThe basics of the Pan-American Style Jig Systeminclude a cell (hutch) containing water with a screenplaced on the top. A bedding material such as steelshot, or any material with a 5 - 8 specific gravity isplaced on the screen. .A rubber diaphragm located at the bottom of the hutchis driven up and down by an eccentric mechanism

On the up stroke, the expanding water column dilatesthe shot bed and at the same times causes adifferential particle sorting based on specific gravity. This leaves the heavier particles on or near the shot bed, while thelighter particles are carried away to waste. On the down stoke, these heavier particles are pulled down through the bedand discharged out of the bottom of the hutch through a gun-rubber pinch valve.

Depth of ore bed, pulsation frequency, stroke length, and make-up water are the main variables use to adjust the jig foroptimal recoveries of gold, heavy minerals, or gemstones. The output of one stage of jigs can be plumbed to the input of asecond stage to achieve a heavier concentrate, and so on until the desired volume of concentrate is achieved.
