What is DVB ? DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) is a set of

international open standards for digital television DVB standards are maintained by the DVB Project

(international industry consortium) and published by a Joint Technical Committee (JTC) of European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) and European Broadcasting Union (EBU)

DVB standards are publicly available, free of charge at http://www.etsi.org and http://www.dvb.org

DVB standards are used in Europe; similar standards are ATSC (used in USA/North America), ISDB (used in Japan/South America) and DMB (used in China, Korea)
