1 IntroductionHail, ye mighty Princes of the late King Trollbasher the XIXVClownheadVIICX! I know

ye be excited to take on the crown and start bashin some orc skulls with kobold skulls,

so on and so forth but heres the thing! Theres more than one of ye and theres only

one crown! Figures, since all our Kings were born with just one head Anyway, heres

the deal, our good old advisor, recently dead, then Undead, has taken it upon himself to

guard the crown till the next King comes and take it from him. Of course, theres alsothe slight technicality of proving that ye can do more than swinging yer axes. Good old

mining and resource management would soon take ye to the top. Also, it wouldnt hurt to

make a few friends out of those cave denizens to help ye guard yer kingdom. Gd luck!

3.2 Losing the GameYou lose the game when one of the other players has won the game or your Base hasbeen conquered.

    4 Starting the Game

    4.1 Dwarven Clan

The Base is the players starting point on the board and is also their home. When it falls

(the Base is occupied by hostiles with no friendly units), the game ends for that player.

    4.1.1 Fortress

Within the Base, 4 troops of the Heros retinue may be stationed in its Fortress to protect

it. All troops inside the Base would get a +1 Bonus to both Attack and Defense. If the

Fortress were breached (i.e. enemy enters Base), the bonus would be lost.

    4.1.2 Hospice

Dwarven Heroes may get healing for 6 coins per Hit Points lost and their retinue regaineach lost hit point for 1 coin per Monster Level. Fallen Heroes may also be resurrectedhere, after paying 20 coins. When the Base is under siege (enemy troops are adjacent to

or within the Base), the Hospice will not be operational.

    4.2 Coins and Hit Points

All players get a starting treasury of 5 Coins. Each turn, 5 coins are generated by the city

and added into the treasury. Heroes and monsters all have 3 Hit Points.

8.3 BribingIf you wish to recruit a Monster that belongs to another player, you must pay theMonster the number of coins equal to thrice its level. Roll a six-sided die against the

monsters master and compare your scores. If your score is higher than and not equal to

or lesser than the enemy players score, the flag on the Monsters Lair would also be

    changed to your color.

8.4 LootingAfter killing a monster, the player obtains twice the number of coins equal to the

Monsters level. If the slain creature happens to be a Hero, the player obtains a quarter of

the enemy Heros entire Coin Treasury (rounded up) and his whole inventory.

    9 Forges

With a Forge, you may buy axes and armor. In order to buy such items, you must have a

mine of the metal that you wish to craft the item with. The cost of the items is listed on

the cards. If you have more than one mine of the same metal, you may purchase the itemfor 1 coin less per extra mine that you own. Each Forge gives 1 coin per turn.

10 MarketplacesWith a Marketplace, you may buy scrolls & potions andsell items and equipment.

Selling items to the Marketplace gives you half the actual Cost (rounded down). All items

are usable only once, at anytime, and then discarded. Only one of each type is sold and

does not restock until player uses it. For each Marketplace you own, you gain 1 extra coin

13 Ancient RuinsThe Ancient Ruins is a large underground chamber that used to be a huge Dwarven City.Rumor has it that the fabled Dwarven Crown can be found within the ruins but is guarded

closely by the late kings advisor, a Relic Guardian, who is now an undead. A hundred

year old corpse seriously does not age well in a humid, dank and unventilated

environment. Not only would you be doing him a favor by giving him his well-deserved

retirement and yourself, a nice-looking crown to hide that ugly head of yours, but think of

how much fresher the air would be with his departure!

14 OccupationsNo, its not about getting a job. Because you already have one: an heir-apparent.

Speaking of which, what does that job entail? Why, taxing people and businesses of

course! So, you have your city and the people are already taxed to the bone. What next?

Businesses: Shrines, Forges, Mines, Marketplaces the works. Once discovered, you

occupy them by placing your flag on them to declare them under your, heh, sovereign

protection. These flagged places will help to generate more income to fund all thosehorrible expeditions on all the peace-loving subterranean folks and your kin.

14.1 Territorial ControlSay, look over here. Its a Copper Mine occupied by the Yellow flag of Prince Stinkfart -

totally unguarded. Whats to stop you from taking it? The workforce itself, thats what!

No one likes to have his head cut off and replaced with a new one on a regular basis if

anyone doesnt mind losing it in the first place, that is. But, still, the workforce respects
