Current Applications
• PROtect = SiO2 Nanolayering• Hospitals in the UK and some McDonald's
restaurants in Austria, are using it for its anti bacterial properties.
• Transport networks are using it to improve vehicle speeds, reduce efficiency and keep vehicles clean.
Objective
• To explore commercial opportunities within a range of carefully selected new markets.
• To work collaboratively with experts in each field, to develop new industrial application systems for this exciting technology.
• To have a positive impact on the environment
Why PROtect
• Legislative requirements in public sanitation and environmental strategies are forcing companies to look for cost effective ways of improving performance in these areas.
• The successful adaptation of Nanotechnology in industry, has facilitated great improvements in these areas.
Why PROtect
• PROtect is Non-detrimental to the environment. • Other than Water or Ethanol, SiO2, is the only
component, it is the most abundant molecule in the earths crust .
• Only 0.26 grams of SiO2 will coat 1 kilometre.• 10 x 40ft trucks of SiO2 would be sufficient to coat
the entire surface area of our planet. • SiO2 is completely inert• The Technology has already won 3 consecutive Green
Apple awards
Completely Safe
• PROtect has been certified safe to use on surfaces that may come into contact with food and or skin.
• Current trials in Europe are seeing the product being applied to food itself in order to prevent fungal attacks.
• Consuming 1 square kilometre of treated food surface (Approx 1 Billion Apples) would merely equate to swallowing approx 10 grains of sand.
Anti Bacterial
• PROtect fights bacteria through ionic exchange.
• The coated surface will not support bacterial growth.
• Will help eliminate MRSA, e-coli, and salmonella bacteria, among others.
Why PROtect
• 100 nanometres thick, PROtect coating layer is 500 time thinner than a human hair.
• invisible to the human eye• No change to material haptics
Lipophobic & Hydrophobic
• Repels oils and greases and Water• 2 Key properties that make PROtect easy to
clean.• The liquid glass coating is a highly durable,
flexible, super smooth, breathable and ‘Super Phobic’ coating.
• Being ‘Super Phobic’ means that it repels oil , water, and dry soiling.
Structure & Appearance
The fissure was induced in order present an imagewhich shows the characteristics of the coating. The image shows the SiO2 coating on a filament of a microfibre.
A magnificent micro image of the extraction Process and SiO2 suspension into Water or Ethanol
