Traffic Rules

• On pavements and oncycle paths, pedestriantraffic has priority andmustnotbeobstructedorendangered.

• Changesofdirectionareto be indicated using indicators. If indicatorsare not available, clearhand signals must begiven.

• Drive in single file andnotsidebyside.

• E-scooters are to beparked like bicycles, without obstruction ofothers.

• There is no helmet requirement, BUT: hel-mets save lives!

• No license or test certificateisrequired.

• The minimum age foroperating an e-scooteris14years.

Traffic Rules

• No other persons maybecarried.

• Trailers may not be attached.

• The alcohol limits formotorisedtrafficapply.

• E-scooters may notbe operated under the influenceofintoxicants.

• Theuseofamobiletele-phone without hands-freeequipmentisprohi-bited.

Requirements for Road Licensing

TheE-scooterrequires:

• Twoindependentbrakes• Lighting equipment as required on

bicycles• Aclear-soundingbellorahorn• Proof of insurance (number plate),

which must be affixed to the rear ofthe vehicle. (Driving without valid insurancecoverisacriminaloffence)

• An operating licence which is not requiredtobecarried

TheE-scooterhasthefollowingvehiclecharacteristics:

• Electricdrive• Maximum design speed of 6 km/h to

20km/h• Max.vehicleweightof55kg(unladen

weight)• Max. vehicle dimensions of 70 cm

(width) x 140 cm (height) x 200 cm(length)

Inaddition,thevehiclemustcomplywiththe further safety requirements of theSmallElectricVehiclesRegulation(eKFV).
