    October 28, 2013

    e-WOOF is a bi-monthlye-newsletter produced by a

    small group of Wyoming dog

rescuers in an effort to high-

    ight shelter dogs in critical

    need of help.

e-WOOF spotlights manydogs that face euthanasia

    within days unless they

    are rescued, fostered,

    or adopted.

    Transport can be arranged,

    in most cases, to approved

    adoptive or foster homes

    or rescue organizations.

    Please help us! These are

    good, healthy, happy, lov-

ing dogs that are out of luck

and out of time. We urge you

    to crosspost to e-mail lists

    and Web groups, forward to

    friends, send to co-workers,

    and share with family. We

    hope our efforts, combined

    with yours, will save many

    ives.

    For the Animals,

    Christina, Kathy,

JOEY is a typical Heeler mix...very exuberant and full of energy. He is about 2 years of age and is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He gets along with with people and other dogs - but probably wouldnot be a good t for a home with cats.

MAX is a small Border Collie/Heeler mix who was recently rescuedfrom the reservation. He weighs about 30 pounds and is about 8months old. He will be neutered before adoption. He is very social

and good with people and all dogs.

BUSY is a Border Collie mix, approximately 1 to 1-1/2 years of age.She is spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. The ideal home forBusy would be one where she could spend her days and nights withher person. She is a fairly quiet little dog - about 35 to 40 pounds.Busy has been at the boarding facility now for several months and

would love to have her own home. She is going to be an easy dog tolive with and shows no desire to leave home.

SKILLET is a 6 year old RedNose Pit. He is a giant baby whothinks he is a lap dog. He loves togo for walks and he loves to cud-dle. He would be best in a home

    without cats or other dogs.

ATHENA came to us very skinnyand neglected. This sweet girl had

been tied up outside for days in thepouring rain with no food, shelter,

or water. When the police brought her to us, you could almost seethe relief in her eyes! She has come a very long way since then. Sheis active and loving, and loves to go for walks. She never had muchtraining in her previous home, so she does need a little bit of work.

With a little bit of patience and love she would become a wonderfulcompanion!

FERN is a beautiful 1- year old Red Nose Pit Bull. She is very af-fectionate and sweet. This poor little girl was found tied to a guardrail in Wind River Canyon before she was brought to us. She wouldprobably be best in a home with no other dogs and no cats. She is a

dream dog with children! She was adopted out to a family with youngchildren, but came back simply because she didnt want to play withthe children. The family wanted a dog to play fetch with the kids, butFern is just a loving girl who was more interested in being affection-ate and just being near the children than she was in playing withthem.

SWEETIE. We are currently seeking rescue for Sweetie, a 4 yearold female great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix. Please let us knowif you can help Sweetie or know of an organization that can. Here is anote from our behavior trainer as to why we are seeking rescue:

Sweetie was originally surrendered to LHS in May of 2011 becauseshe was ghting with the other dog in the home. At LHS, Sweetie wasdog social, but concerned about new people. She spent time in ourTraining and Behavior program to make her more comfortable withstrangers and we adopted Sweetie out and she was returned becauseshe was eliminating in the home, barking, and lunging at childrenon-leash, and snapped at an adult visitor to the home. The previous

owners indicated that Sweetie was great with the mentally handi-capped child in the home and would allow him to lay on her, pull onher ears, and use her as a pillow. Sweetie lived successfully with 3cats, but was the only dog in the home.

    NELSON

is a very nice dog and never showed any aggression even though hewas terried. He is always wagging his little stubby tail and wiggleshis whole body to show how much he likes your attention. He mightdo best in a quiet home as the only dog and most denitely needs a

very gentle, patient person. He is neutered and current on vaccina-tions.

NELSON is a one-year-old Shih-Tzu, Bishon Frise mix. He is ahandsome black and white little guy who does need to work on pottytraining. He would really enjoy a home with lots of attention as he

    My Dogs Thoughts on Halloween

    by Christine Zidas

Its Halloween, and its time to dress upCan you imagine anything worse for a pup?

These humans like costumes, candy, and suchFor doggies like me, it all seems a bit much

My masters I keep happy by wagging and tricksBy barking and jumping, and catching those sticks.

Is it too much to ask they forget doggie clothes? It messes my fur and detracts from my nose.

They want me so scary, a pirate this year

    Swashbuckler with patch, a

    mean dog with a snear,

But Im meant forjoy and for keepingthings lightIs is too much tobe costume-free forone night?

A Halloween dog, ohit just should not beI cant wait forNovember to go backto just me.
