EADmotors

Since 1942, EADmotors has beenmanufacturing high-performancerotating products for industry.

We have broad experiencedesigning and producing motors, blowers, and fans that meetextremely precise engineeringrequirements. We are capableof solving difficult designproblems involving motion technology.

Achieving Your Goals

If your company is involved in producinghigh-performance products such as instru-ments, satellite tracking systems, controlproducts, etc., EADmotors can providevaluable help. We believe the key toachieving your performance goals isworking together. With our strong engi-neering capabilities, we can work withyou to develop precision motion productsto meet your most exacting requirements.

Quick Delivery for CustomProducts

EADmotors specializes in meeting indi-vidual customer requirements. We havedeveloped the ability to quickly designand manufacture custom products andmodified standards. Typical examples ofthe type of modifications we do every dayare:

Connectors Shielded cables Special shafts Custom end caps and mounting

configurations Custom windings to optimize

performance Special packaging for harsh

environments Precision tolerances

Brushless DC Servo Motors

EADmotors offers a full line of brushlessDC servo motors from sizes 17 through42. Our servo motors feature high energyneodymium magnets for high torque in acompact package. EAD servo motors of-fer high speed and extremely smooth andprecise motion. They are fully compatiblewith industry standard analog and digitalservo amplifiers. Our servo motors oper-ate at high speed and provide extremelysmooth and precise motion when steppingmotor technology has reached its limits.

 NEMA standard size 17, 23, 34, and42 mechanical designs

Optical encoders (optional) High speed, smooth operation Cost-effective designs for OEM

applications Industry-standard, 3-phase designs Windings available to match any

servo-amplifier Output power to 1000 Watts (peak) Available with custom shaft, end caps,

cables, and connectors

Typical applications include high speedinspection systems, semiconductor han-dling equipment, document sorting equip-ment, and medical systems.

Linear Actuators

EADmotors digital linear actuators arebased on modified hybrid stepping motorsthat incorporate an integral nut assemblyand precision lead screw design. They areextremely reliable devices that provide asimple and efficient method of creating alinear positioning system. EADmotorslinear actuators are available in a varietyof sizes from 17 through 42 frame. Theseprecision devices are capable of producinga linear force of up to 700 pounds and res-olution up to 0.000125” per 1.8° step.

Conventional designs feature internal ro-tating nuts made from SAE 660 bearingbronze. The DuraPlus series, available inboth the L1 and L2 frames, features a pre-cision stainless steel shaft with low fric-tion internal nuts made of a variety ofengineered polymers. The DuraPlus se-ries is the latest advance in integrated lin-ear motion yielding both long life andsmooth, quiet operation.

Stepping Motors

For over 25 years, EADmotors has de-signed stepping motors for a wide range ofapplications. EAD stepping motors havebeen used on a variety of products in di-verse applications such as packaging, semiconductor handling and testing, an-tenna positioning, laboratory equipment, and even electric braking systems for rail-way cars. EAD stepping motors areknown throughout the industry for highquality, long life, and unparalleled consis-tency.

Centrifugal Blowers

EADmotors centrifugal blowers areknown for quiet, reliable operation. Madein single, double, and inverted styles, theydeliver up to 600 CFM airflow. The ACblowers have near-constant speed perma-nent split capacitor motors. Brushless DCmodels operate at fixed or variable speed.

Axial Fans

EADmotors manufactures a broad line ofvane axial, tube axial, and axial fans. Theyencompass a wide range of air volumes atlow to relatively high pressures. Designedfor maximum efficiency at minimum in-put, these high-performance fans offer ex-ceptionally long life and reliability. Quiet,smooth-running ball bearings eliminatethe need for maintenance and lubrication.

Solutions to Problems

Synchronous Motors

Synchronous motors run at an exact speed. The speed will not vary with load or volt-age. We make hysteresis and reluctancetypes in a wide range of frame sizes. EADhysteresis-synchronous motors developsmooth, constant starting and acceleratingtorques. They synchronize any load withintheir torque rating—regardless of inertia.

EAD reluctance-synchronous motorsfunction at constant speeds—and costvery little more than standard inductionmotors.

Induction Motors

In single and 3-phase models, EAD induc-tion motors are designed for a wide rangeof commercial and military applications. For low starting torque applications, per-manent-split capacitor types offer higherefficiency and a higher power factor thanother designs. Capacitor start and splitphase motors are used when a high start-ing torque is required. EADmotors manu-factures both high and low slip permanentsplit capacitor motors to meet a widerange of application requirements.

Torque Motors

Torque motors are com-monly used where prolongedstalled operation or specialrunning-torque characteris-tics are required. They mayinvolve either static or dy-namic forces.

Applications may requiresmooth, moderate accelerat-ing torque and low speedwith speed ranges from nearsynchronous to zero.

Stator/Rotor Sets

EADmotors provides frameless versionsof all of our designs. Stator/rotor sets offerthe advantage of eliminating componentparts in a system such as redundant bear-ings and couplings. They also allow sys-tems to be smaller and more reliable aspossible failure modes are eliminated atthe design stage. Contact us for more in-formation about how stator/rotor sets canmake your products more competitive.

In addition to brushless

DC motors, EADmotors

manufactures a wide

range of other types of

motors and controls as

well as blowers and fans.
