Digital Nativism

Preschoolers, and younger children, are growing up as digital natives.

Even I have a hard time keeping up with the technology that they inherently get.

Give a 2 year old an iPad and they instantly know how to make it work.

With their native understanding of technology, we, as teachers and interventionists, need to become fluent in understanding the technology that they want to use.

I started using an iPad in my therapy and teaching about a year ago.

Now I do about 80% of my therapy, and all of my articulation therapy, on the iPad.
