Course Objectives of The Edge: Spring Seminar 20151. Increase clinical knowledge of emergency medicine through
an innovative mixture of lectures and hands-on workshops on practical and administrative processes.
2. Develop and improve basic skills utilized by emergency medicine practitioners in emergency medicine settings.
3. Create an environment in which young physicians will develop presentation and research skills through a series of competitive venues.
4. Review the most up-to-date literature on various topics of emergency medicine.
CME InformationThis educational activity is sponsored by the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP).
ACOEP is an approved provider of AOA Category 1A CME credit.
ACOEP has requested that the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education approve this program for 24 AOA Category 1A Specialty CME credits for didactic sessions, and 15 credits through additional opportunities.
Approval is currently pending.
In total, 39 hours of Category 1A CME is available at The Edge: Spring Seminar 2015.

Sprinting back for its fourth year, the FOEM 5K will get your blood flowing for a good cause! Not up to a 5K this year? Run or walk the new 1-Mile DO Dash. FOEM and ACOEP are proud to present the Faculty Development Track! This invaluable tool trains current and prospective core faculty members in effective ways to incorporate research into their programs.
If you missed the first course at The Edge: Scientific Assembly 2014, you’re in luck! FOEM will offer an encore presentation of Part One, The Introduction to Research. Topics include an introduction to the FOEM Research Network, formulating a research concept, creating a teaching environment in residency training, and adapting medical curriculum.
Once you have completed The Introduction to Research, further develop your skills with the second portion of this series, Developing Research. In this course, leading experts will discuss the complexities of grant writing, developing inter-institution research projects, and ethical questions surrounding research.
Register for one or both parts and get the training you need to get in-depth, meaningful research off the ground!
