This joint initiative between JSW & The Times of

India has been fuelled by the incorporation of

successful inhouse climate change mitigation

measures within JSW and the urge to facilitate

further action through a mass eco-consciousness

movement by engaging the people of the country.

TERRE Policy Centre is the outreach partner and CEE is

the knowledge partner in this initiative. The technical

framework including questionnaire, application pack

is developed by CEE and it is also responsible for short

listing, field evaluation, ranking and final presentationto the Jury for selection of Awardees.

policy initiative leading to re duced emissions for bec oming climate-efficient.

Applications should present:

A project of developing innovative product or service showing clear

entrepreneurial efforts of improving systemic energy efficiency or building

resilience.

Clear correlation between t heir innovation and its benefits to the bot tom of

the pyramid. Those having application in several sectors, not restricted to

industry and it should be read y to meet the need of urgency for action.

GHG mitigation in Small and Medium Enterprises

Large industries across areas of specialization that have demonstrated

considerab le leadership and willingness to red uce carbo n intensity of

their operat ions are eligible to apply for this cat egory.

Focus is on industries who have demonstra ted co nsiderable improvement

to r educe energy and e mission from their operations. This will have directand indirect relevance to the r eduction of all Greenhouse Ga s emissions.

The award process tries to recognize their efforts and highlight the work

carried out in the segment of energy efficiency and emission reduction

over last few years. The specific emphasis is on energy conservation,

energy efficiency improvement measures, innovations and emission

reduction.

Proven continual improvement in energy efficiency enhancement at

different sta ges of the life-cycle of product manufact uring.

Energy efficiency improvement initiatives leading to reduct ion in the

release of greenho use gases with verifiable indicator s.

Achieved emission reduction (direct &indirect) beyond the basic

compliance requirements.
