Word Match ActivityIn this simple activity students have a series of pictures and words that a teacher has put on a page. The students will be asked to reveal the correct pictures and their English names.

You can use this technique for pacing information, for making pop-ups, or for creating matching pairs games.Place the object (image or text) that you want to hide and show on the page.

Select Edit Mode. Click on the object to select it.

On the expanded Easiteach toolbar, click

Utilities to display the Utilities toolbar.

Click the Links button to display the Links dialog box.Select the Animate tab and click the Hide/show on click checkbox. Close the Links dialog box.

Select Use Mode. Now try clicking the object to make it appear and disappear.

You can now make your rectangle shapes and use them to cover the words and pictures.

Try some of the following words that appear in the multimedia bank or try using your own!

Make the WordThis is a very simple introductory activity where students are asked to move missing vowel sounds into place to complete simple CVC words. The word names can then be clicked on to hear the English pronunciation.

Magic Magnifying GlassIn this activity, teachers can take the special magnifying glass over to reveal the words that are verbs from a general list of words.

This activity uses the order button on the Easiteach toolbar. which in turn opens the order toolbar.

When objects overlap in the wrong order, select either; Move Higher, Move Lower, Move to Top, or Move to Bottom, to change how they overlap.

Use the overlapping to create your Magic Magnifying Glass by creating a set of words, moving them forward or backward on the pages as required and then putting your shape between them.

This activity uses the database feature of Easiteach to present a list of words or pictures as a part of a passage that has missing elements. This is a good fun exercise that is very easy to set up.

Launch the database toolbar from the toolbars tab.

Select the add field button and then click on the part of the page that you want to add the word or picture.

Pressing “Delete” will remove the name of the field and just leave the box.

Make sure that the box is selected.

You may need to use the editing tool to do this, so select it from the main toolbar and drag the mouse over the box to bring up the red marquee as above.

To put your words or pictures in the box, you need to click the properties tool on the database toolbar. This will only show when the field box is selected. This will bring up the field properties dialog box.

You can now add your words or pictures to the list of items that you want your students to choose from. You can repeat this to make as many “guess boxes” as you want. You may need to change the “style” of the field to have the text appear the right size.

To use your cloze activity, you need to ensure that the children are in “Use mode”. They should then be able

to select the arrow on the side of the box and choose from the list of words/pictures.

Punctuation Activities Made EasyUsing the Easiteach Starter Toolbar, it is really easy to strip the

punctuation out of a passage that you have copied from any source. Students can then use the “Add” feature to put the punctuation back into the passage.

Launch the Easiteach Starter Toolbar from the Toolbars tab.

Put your passage on the Easiteach page. You can copy and paste it from a browser such as Internet Explorer, a word document, another Easiteach page, etc. or you can type it on the page yourself. Make sure it is a passage with a lot of punctuation in it.

By selecting the punctuation tool it is now possible to remove the capital letters or all of the punctuation from the passage simply by clicking the button.

Students can put the punctuation back in the passage easily by selecting “Add” and dragging the marks to the correct places.

It is now time to have a go for yourself.

Good Luck!
