The second public meeting for the East Forest Area Neighborhood Improvement Project (NIP) was held November 15, 2007 at Garr Memorial Church. The City’s consultant, Armstrong Glen, presented the comments collected from the first public meeting and three project alternatives for neighborhood improvements. Based on the input received at the meeting, a majority of residents favored Alternate 3. Since the second public meeting, the City has received further positive input for Alternate 3 by phone and neighborhood association websites.

Alternate 3 will provide five-foot wide sidewalk on one side of Coatbridge Lane, Knickerbocker Drive, McLaughlin Drive, Bainbridge Road and a portion of Knell Drive, Eaglewood Avenue, Pineborough Road and Lumarka Drive. The City has placed Forest Way Drive and Wallace Road on a waiting list for sidewalk should additonal funds become available.

A drop-in third public meeting to present the final project will be held from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. February 12, 2008 at Garr Memorial Church located at 7700 Wallace Road.

For more information on this project, please contact the Project Manager Kristie Kennedy at 704-336-6194 or [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you at the public meeting.
