PASTORAL CARE OF THE SICK

Dear Parishioners, Several years ago, in his Easter Message, Pope Francis spoke these words: "The last word of God on the human condition is not death but life; not despair but hope. To this hope, the Church invites the men and women of today as well. She repeats to them the incredible but true proclamation: Christ is risen! Let the whole world rise with Him! Alleluia!"

May we never lose sight of the abiding joy and hope that that was won for us by Jesus in his Resurrection. He rose from the dead in a particular moment in history, and He desires to rise again now in our personal lives, and in our hearts. He wants to rise again in our Church, in our families, in our communities, and in every facet of human existence. Jesus asks for our cooperation and our deliberate choice. On this Easter Sunday, choose Jesus. Choose his victory over death and sin. Allow him to rise in you, so that as Church, we may be witnesses of His mercy and love to the world.

Wishing each of you the peace, joy and hope of the Risen Lord Jesus and joining my prayer to yours this Easter Sunday and throughout the season of Jesus’ resurrection.

In the Lord,

WELCOME If you are visiting with us today, we are delighted you came to worship with us! If you are looking for a place you can call your parish, please consider this dynamic Catholic faith community as your spiritual home. Because we are a family, we rejoice and give thanks whenever our Heavenly Father gives us new brothers and sisters to share our journey.

Happy Blessed Easter To all our parishioners!

May you and your loved ones enjoy the day and the season! If you are traveling, we pray you will have a safe trip and look forward to your return.

PRAYER FOR TRAVELERS O Almighty and merciful God, who hast commissioned Thy angels to guide and protect us, command them to be our assiduous companions from our setting out until our return; to clothe us with their invisible protection; to keep from us all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of fall and bruises, and finally, having preserved us from all evil, and especially from sin, to guide us to our heavenly home. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED We all know what to expect of Easter: lots of lilies around the altar, our “Alleluia” joyfully sung over and over, perhaps a tasty ham dinner later in the day, topped off by some chocolates from the Easter basket. But all of this began, as we hear in today’s Gospel, with the “unexpected” when Mary Magdalene found the tomb empty. Indeed, Peter’s speech from Acts in the first reading could insert the phrase “you might have expected” at a number of points . . . that Jesus would baptize John, not the other way around . . . that His healing and exorcising ministry would win Him acclaim, not death . . . that His resurrection would place Him in another dimension, not back at table with his followers. On a day like Easter, a day filled with traditions, customs, and expectations, we are called more than ever to keep looking for God’s will in unexpected places, people, and events. In this way we can continue to give witness, like Mary Magdalene and Peter, that Christ is truly risen from dead, and continues to live among us. © Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co

FRIED CHICKEN POEM I like almost every food, I think every dish is very good, the food I think I like the best, fried chicken is the food that beats the rest. I could eat it in the morning, I could eat it without warning. I could eat it all the day, fried or baked, either way. Whether it be famous Kentucky fried, or at YWMTEW, I'll eat chicken until the day I die. Chicken is the best you see, if you won't eat it, - I will joyfully. Fried is the style I prefer; it is the hot dog I ignore. I like the crispy crunchy taste, I'll never let it go to waste. You may highly disagree, but chicken is the dish for me. If you don't like it then that's tuff, you can eat all that other weird stuff.

If I get to the St. Joseph’s fundraiser before you do,
