OPEN HOUSE FOR

GRADES 2-4 Our Open House for grades 2-4 will be on

Thursday, August 15th 4:30 - 6:00 pm. There

will be structured times for parents to attend and hear a short presentation from your

child’s teacher at 5:00 and 5:30 pm. Please

plan to be at your child’s classroom at one of these times.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Parents, please be sure to label your child’s backpack, lunch box, coat, and any other personal belongings with their name. This will help us get these items returned to your child if they misplace them or leave them on the bus.

If your child has a transportation change, it must be made in writing. If your child is going somewhere that the bus has not tak-en them before, please include the address where they are going on your note to change their transportation. A note needs to be sent to each child’s teacher, not one note for a whole family.

Also, if your child is thinking of having a student come home with them, they must check with the bus driver to be sure there is room for extra students on the bus.

School Delays or Cancellations are an-nounced through our School Reach auto-mated phone system. Please be sure you keep us updated with your current tele-phone numbers. Notification will also be available on our school website and the local tv and radio stations.

Meal costs are as follows: Breakfast $1.45 and Lunch $2.55. Milk cost $.50. Each child has a lunch account and money may be placed in their account by sending a check with your child. Please be sure their name and room number are clearly marked on the payment. The online payment system is also available at myschoolbucks.com. You will need to know your child’s lunch account number. If you need assistance with that number, please call the cafeteria at 825-5623 x1950.

If your child is absent, please call by 10 am to report the child’s absence. Upon the child’s return, a doctor’s statement or par-ent note is required to get the absence ex-cused. Please refer to pages 9 and 10 in your student’s handbook for information regarding absences.

Special Occasions: Please note that we cannot accept deliver-ies of flowers, balloons, stuffed animals, candy, etc. for students. They cause dis-traction in the classroom and cannot be transported on our buses. Please arrange with your child’s teacher if you would like to provide classroom treats for your child’s birthday. Thank you for your understand-ing.

BACKGROUND CHECKS If you want to volunteer at our school or chaperone a field trip, a criminal background check must be done every school year. Please have this done as soon as possible. The form is available in the ele-mentary office from 7:30 am to 3:45 pm. The per-son completing the form must come in and bring their driver’s license. Chaperones for field trips are limited to parents or guardians. Please remember that if you are chosen as a chaperone, you must have your background check completed 10 school days prior to the trip.

Paper order forms went home last week. Do You Need a

Paper Copy? We will be sending home a paper

copy of the newsletters to all students

the first couple of weeks. After this time, we will send out the newsletter by email

and post it on the school website. If you

do not have email or computer ac-cess, please complete this form and

return it to our office so we can send home a paper copy of the newsletter

with your child. Thanks!

TEXTBOOK APPLICATIONS Please remember a new application for free/

reduced meals and textbook assistance must be

completed every year unless you receive a letter

stating your family has been directly certified by

the state. An application for the 2019-2020 school year can
