FINAL NEWSLETTER FOR 2016

As the year draws to a close, I would like to humbly thank the students, families and

staff of Beaufort Primary School who make this school the wonderful place it is.

Throughout the year, we have had a number of changes to staff, our teaching and

learning, as well as events that happen each year.

As a first time Principal, 2016 has been a wonderful year. The students at Beaufort Pri-

mary School are great kids and have a real love of life and learning.

I would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a wonderful

and safe Summer holiday!

A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO LEARN

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

This week has been a busy week of concert practise, prop making, speech writing and Christmas activities. To finish off the school year, we have 3 major events.

Tomorrow night (Wednesday), we have the end of year concert. This assembly will be held at the Beaufort Town Hall, starting at 6.00pm. We ask that all students be at the hall, on the night, at 5.50pm, allowing for them all to be seated and ready to start by 6.00pm. Students will sit in their classes, not with their parents. Students will all be going down to the Town Hall tomorrow to have a practise on the stage.

Thursday night, we celebrate the graduating class of 2016, with a special Graduation Dinner. Grade 6 students and their families are invited to arrive around 6.30pm to have their family photos taken. Students will formally be welcomed at 7.00pm, commencing the night. During the evening, all Grade 6 students will make a speech and will be presented with their graduation certificate and gift.

Given these two events are held by the school, there is no consumption of alcohol or smoking allowed. This is in alignment with our Healthy Active Together accreditation.

This Friday, students will all take part in their class parties. Each grade has allocated time throughout the day where students will be rewarded for the efforts and achievements of 2016. All grades will be having their class party lunch at 12.00pm.

In conjunction with the class parties, as the whole school reward for the students achieving the Values Tokens goal, we are allowing all students to come in their casual clothes; they will have a special visitor and each class will have access to a Wii for a period of time throughout the day.

Also, this Friday, students will spend 15 minutes meeting their teachers for 2017. Teachers have worked closely with myself to develop these lists and we believe we have catered for all students academic and social needs. Changes to classes will not be made.

School reports and the School Magazine will be coming home to parents and families on Thursday. Please check your children’s bags for these items.

As the school year closes, we ask that parents have a good check at home for any misplaced home reading books or library books and return these to school.
