1. General InformationThe unit utilises passive infrared technology to detect heat radiation of moving human bodies.

Upon detection, the lamp will illuminate for a user-determined time period.

An integral daylight sensor ensures night-only operation if required.

IMPORTANTSwitch off the electricity at the fuse box by removing the relevant fuse or switching off the circuit breaker before proceeding with

the installation (Diagram 2).

4. Installation

After choosing a suitable location install the unit as follows:

Theunitissuitableforconnectionto230Vac50Hzelectricitysupply.Itissuggestedthat3-coreroundflexiblecableof1mm²or1.5mm²gaugeisused. An internal switch should be installed to switch the power to the unit .

This allows the unit to be easily switched off when not required or for maintenance purposes.

Thisunitusesanintegralwallfixingplate,detachthewallfixingplatebyunscrewingandreleasebutdonotremovethefixingscrewontheundersideofthewallplate(Diagram3).

Markthepositionofthewallfixingholes(60mm).Ensurethewallplateiscorrectlypositioned.Notethe“TOP”identontheinsideofthewallplate.Drilltheholes,insert the wall plate into the holes.

Pierceandpassthecablethroughthegrommetbeforesecuringthewallplatetothe wall.

Itisrecommendedthatthegrommetispiercedwithascrewdrivertoensureabetterseal.(Diagram4).

Fixthewallplatetothewallwithscrewsprovided.Connectthecabletotheterminalblockontheunitasfollows(Diagram5):

5. Operation and TestingSetting Up For Automatic Operation

The Sensor Head can be panned 90 degree to left and 90 degree to the right. (Diagram 10)

Theadjustmentcontrolsontheunit(Diagram11)shouldbesetasfollows.

TheTIMEcontroldetermineshowlongthelampremainsilluminatedafteractivation(3minto15min).

These settings allow the lamp to illuminate for the designated time on period after darknessfallsandtheunitisactivated.

Toconnectanotherunitofuncontrolledfloodlight,connecttheloopingpowercabletotheterminalblockonthemasterunitasfollows(Diagram7):

Fitthefloodlighttothebracketbyinsertingthecatchinthefloodlightintotherecessatthetopofthewallplateandlocatingthefloodlightsecurelyoverthewallplate.Fitandfullysecuretheretainingscrew(Diagram3).

TofittheCFL,releasebutdonotremovethescrewonthefrontcoverofthefloodlight,openandrotatedownbutdonotseparatefromthemainfloodlightbody.(Diagram8)

Tofitthebulb,turnthelampenclosure180anti-clockwisetoreleasefromthebayonetlock.(Diagram10)

Removethebulbsfromitspackagingandfitintothelampholders.Ensurethebulbis fully secured into the lampholder.

Closethefrontcover,ensurethescrewisfullytighten.

Thisfloodlightusesauniversaljoint,itcanbedirectedtosuityourinstallationbyrotatingthefloodlightlefttorightandupordown.(Diagram9)

The DUSK (LUX)controldeterminesthelevelofdarknessrequiredfortheunittostartoperating.(Diagram12)

Walk Test is used to test and adjust the detection coverage of the unit. (Diagram 13)

Adjust the Time knob to “T” then conduct a walk test procedure as described as follows:

• AdjusttheTimeknobto“T”,andLuxknobto“Sun”.

• Walkacrossthedetectionarea,oncethedetectoristriggeredand lamp will On for 3 min.

The setting is best achieved by the procedure below:

SettheDUSKcontrolknobfullyanti-clockwiseandtheTimecontroltotherequiredminutes.

Waituntildarknessfalls.

Whentheambientlightlevelreachesthelevelofdarknessatwhichyouwishthelamptobecomeoperative(ie.Atdusk),SLOWLYrotatethecontrolinaclockwisedirectionuntilapointisreachedwherethelampilluminates.Leavethecontrolsetat this point.

Atthisposition,theunitshouldbecomeoperativeatapproximatelythesamelevelofdarknesseachevening.Observetheoperationoftheunit.Iftheunitisstartingtooperatetooearly(ie.whenitisquitelight),adjustthecontrolslightlyanti-clockwise.Iftheunitstartstooperatetoolate(ie.onlywhenitisverydark),adjustthecontrolslightlyclockwise.

Continuetoadjustuntiltheunitoperatesasdesired.

Lensmaskistomaskoutareanotdesiredfordetection(Diagram15).

Installationoflensmaskasfollows(Diagram16):

• Useapenknifeorplierstocutoutlensmasksegment,exposingareafordetection.

• Attachthelensmasktothedetectorhead.

• Turnslightlythelensmaskforittobelockedintoplace.

Manual Override Mode

The light can be switched on for longer time periods by use of the Manual OverrideMode.

6. Troubleshooting GuideProblemLampstaysONallthetimenight and day.

LampstaysONallthetimeatnight,orPIRkeepsactivatingatrandom for no apparent reason.

PIRkeepsactivatingfornoreason/atrandom.

PIRsensorwillnotoperateatall.LampstaysOFF.

ThePIRsensorwillnotoperate at night.

Unit activates during the daytime.PIRcoverageispoor/sporadic.

Detection range varies fromday to day.

SolutionCheckwiringconnections.WirestoLandL1terminalsmaybe transposed.

Theunitmaybesufferingfromfalseactivation.Coverthesensorlenscompletelywithblackpvctape.Thiswillpreventthesensorfrom"seeing"anything.Iftheunitnowswitchesoff after the set time duration and does not re-activate, this indicates that the problem was caused by false activation. The problem may be solved by slightly adjusting the direction/angleofthesensorhead(seeprevioussection).Ifhowever,theunitcontinuestoremainONortooperaterandomly the unit is faulty and should be replaced.

Youmaynotbeallowingtheunittimetocompleteit'swarm-up period. Stand well out of the detection range and wait(thewarm-upperiodshouldneverexceed5minutes).Occasionally,windsmayactivatethesensor.Sometimespassages between buildings etc. can cause a "wind tunnel" effect.Ensuretheunitisnotpositionedsoastoallowdetectionofcars/peopleusingpublicthoroughfaresadjacenttoyourproperty.Ensurethattheunitismountedsecurely, even the slightest movement can result in a false detection.

CheckthatthepowerisswitchedONatthecircuitbreaker/internalwallswitch.TurnOFFthepowertotheunitandcheckthewiringconnectionsasperthediagram(seesection3).Ensurenoconnectionsareloose.ChecktheCFL.IftheCFLhasfailed,replace.EnsurethattheCFLisseatedcorrectlyinthelampholder.
