GLOBAL POPULATION GROWTHRapid global population growth over the past century has placed a strain on the resources of the earth and it is expected that the global population will double from its current 7 billion to almost 12 billion people by the year 2100.This expected population growth will place a tremendous strain on the resources of the earth.

Problem statement…..Worldwide around 1,5 Billion people are chronically hungry due to extreme poverty, while up to 2,5 billion people lack food security intermittently due to varying degrees of poverty (source: FAO, 2010).
Six million children die of hunger every year – 17,000 every day.
As of late 2014 the situation is as follows:
• Export restrictions and panic buying• US Dollar Depreciation• Increased farming for use in biofuels• World oil prices fluctuating between levels of uncertainty (often rattling most
country’s economic planning)• Global population growth• Climate change• Loss of agricultural land to residential and industrial development• Growing consumer demand in China and India having an impact on pushing
up the price of grain and other foodstuff
