SCED Testing Phase 1

• QSE with Resources will sign up for a seven day testing window in the EDS environment– This will initiate a number of events that will occur before the testing

window (detailed on slide 13)

– The testing window begins with a two hour support call with online SME support from ERCOT

• Goal is to provide immediate assistance to resolve issues

– After the support call, QSEs with resources can execute additional scenarios they have “defined”

– Support calls will be reserved in the order requests are submitted

– Taking an earlier testing window enables more time for re-testing should it be needed

– MPs that sign up for the first week of October will not have a 7 day testing window and almost no time to correct issues

Digital Certificates

• 1 digital certificate with a generic employee name has been generated for each QSE and sub-QSE with Resources.– The MP’s USA does not need to take any action– This is the only certificate that will work in the EDS environment– This certificate will also work in the Nodal Sandbox environment– It will not work in production, MOTE, or any other ERCOT

environment• Distribution will occur after the QSE signs up for a SCED Phase 1

Testing Window• Once the Nodal Market Participant Identity Management System is

operational, these generic EDS certificates will be revoked.• All valid ERCOT issued digital certificates will continue to work in

the Nodal Sandbox.
