The District’s 180 square-mile service area encompasses 32 customer communies, including the City of Madison, and operates a 96-mile system of interceptors, 18 pumping staons, and a state-of-the-art, 50 MGD capacity wastewater treatment plant. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred, in civil, chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering.

• A minimum of ten years experience in progressively responsible public or private sector wastewater treatment administration functions (including five years supervisory experience); or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.

• Possession of a Professional Engineer's license

• Possession of an ENV SP credential from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (requirement to obtain credential within 1 year of hire).

The District provides a competitive compensation package which includes:• The salary range is $103,000 to $140,000 annually DOQ

POSITION PURPOSE

The Director of Operations and Maintenance will exercise leadership to protect public health and the environment by ensuring that all wastewater generated in the District’s service area is safely conveyed to the Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant, where resources of clean water, nutrients, and energy are recovered. The Director performs highly responsible managerial work guiding the overall functions of the Department which includes; operations, electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, sewer collections, monitoring services, and buildings and grounds.
