Dear Parents and Friends,

Education Program and is provided by trained Austswim providers through the Department of Education and

Communities. The best part is, it is FREE. Ask for a note

from the Admin Office or see Mrs Jacobs.

Reading in Stage One Reading is fun in Stage One! When you visit our stage One

sound of children and mums and dads reading together. It was great to be invited to join the crowds of enthusiastic

readers last week, enjoying this great reading activity. Many thanks to our very supportive parents and friends of Edward

Public School for coming along and helping in our classrooms with the reading project, and for making a huge

difference to our children’s learning.

Kinder 2014 Congratulations to our Kinder 2014 students who enjoyed

their final day of transition last Thursday with a celebratory

morning tea and certificate presentation. Already settled are many of our little ones who have siblings at our school, and

know their way around very well.

A special invitation will be arriving home soon for our 2014

kinder students and their parents to attend their Best Start Day next year, and to meet their Buddy. We encourage

mums and dads to bring their child’s enrolment details to the admin office as soon as possible, as this will greatly

assist with our organisation for 2014.

Big Bash Cricket Last week over consecutive days, Edward Public School had

4 teams; Edward Bushrangers, Edward Blues, Edward

Warriors and Edward Redbacks participate in the annual Big Bash Cricket Day. (formerly super 8's). In contrasting

conditions, Stage 2 battled it out in blistering heat on Wednesday while after a major drop in temperature and

the threat of cancellation due to rain saw Stage 3 rugged

up in jumpers on Thursday. All teams played a total of four games against other local schools in a limited overs and

batting format. The students represented Edward with great sportsmanship and exemplary behaviour. Many

thanks to our team managers Mrs Young, Mr Howell, Miss

Dodd, Kerrie Godfrey, Teena Irwin, Mrs Bermingham, Bronwyn O'Connor,Tanya Larcombe, Felicity Michael, and

Broden Larcombe without whose help the day would not have been the success it was. A huge thanks and

congratulations to Mr Bradley who co-ordinated another smoothly run successful two day event.
