FIRE RESISTANCE TESTS
Efectis France is having exceptional testing facilities to respond effectively to all the testing requests, from the most simple to the more complex ones:
n Two laboratories and 9 testing furnaces, among which a furnace of more than 250 m3. These furnaces are able to perform tests of vertical elements from 1 x 1m to 6 x 5 m (w x h), and of horizontal elements from 1 x 1m to 7 x 8 m (w x L),
n Tests performed according to European and international standards (EN, DIN, ISO, IMO, BS, ASTM, uL, FM),
n Classification standard tests (ISO - HC - HCM - RWS - JetFire) for doors, partitions, glazings, smoke extraction ventilators, ducts, dampers, shutters, protection structures and products, penetration seals, linear joints…, as well as research and ad-hoc tests,
n Specific equipment which allow the determination of the additional performances to fire resistance such as:
•Smokecontroltestsfordoors(Sa-Sm-S200), •Opening/closingdoorscycles(fromC0toC5), •Airtightnessandwaterproofnessofdoors,penetrationsealsandjointseals, •Resistancetothelateraldisplacementsofthepenetrationsealsandjointseals, •Complianceofoperatedsafetymechanismsanddevices(DAS–NFS61-937).
TESTING
REACTION TO FIRE TESTS
Historically present within the Efectis group since its creation, Efectis France started its reaction to fire activity.
Efectis is having all the equipment (Single Burning Item, Fire Performance of Electric Cables, calo-rimeter bomb...) allowing to perform the reaction to fire tests of the construction products and of electrical cables recommended by the European regulations.
IN SITU TESTS
In collaboration with its sister company Efectis Outlabs Ventilation, Efectis France is performing in situ tests on existing or on full scale constructions in order to:
n study the fire behaviour of the steel, concrete, wood, and mixed (warehouses, parking) structures,n examine under real fire conditions the behaviour of the construction products,n test and assess the smoke extraction systems (Public Buildings, tunnels, parking, stations…),n assess the performances of the sprinkler systems on high power fires (water mist systems in
tunnel…).
In this context, Efectis has designed the first mobile furnace able to realise in situ spalling tests of steel structures (HCM, ISO, RWS).
Our experts are designing and realising fire exercises in collaboration with the rescue services and the clients.
FIRE FIGHTING TESTS
Efectis France is offering to the fire fighting actors the validation of their enga-gement protocols, and the assessment of their equipment and resources in real fire conditions.
The purpose is to:n limit the use of extinguishing agent,n assess the performance level of a PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) depending on the
thermal aggression,n validate techniques of fire engagement and of fire aggression,n assess the performances of the extinction mobile means depending of the types of fire seats.

CERTIFICATION
VOLUNTARY CERTIFICATION
These voluntary certifications, offered in collaboration with AFNOR Certification, are available for the companies who wish to promote their products and their know-how.
n Certification of the products in addition to the CE marking in order to ensure the installation and the good integration of the products into the building.n Certification of the companies who wish to demonstrate their professional skills through a Quality brand and the appeal to Efectis France as an impartial
and qualified third party.
CE MARKING
In Europe, CE marking is mandatory for the majority of the construction products related to fire safety.
Whatever the type of fire product (door, damper, shutter, SHEV, fan, protection product, glazing product, penetration seal system…), Efectis France, thanks to its triple competence Certification-Tests-Inspections, is offering to its clients:n a global service (assistance and intervention),n a single contact point.

A professional expertise and numerical tools which allow to take into account all the situations linked to a potential fire:
n the definition and the characterization of fire scenaris,
n the fire development and the smoke extraction equipment, the flow and heat transfers during the fire.
These tools are also needed in order to assess the performances of construction products whose dimensions are superior to the furnaces’ capacities or in real fire conditions.
The fire safety engineering allows the architects and the contractors to design, rehabilitate or realise buildings with original architectures and with a high added value. It is as well adapted for smaller projects having special use, or regulatory particularities (historic buildings, parking, classified installations…).
The Efectis experts belong to the fire safety engineering pioneers in France and in Europe. They are participating to the PN ISI (fire safety engineering national plan). Efectis France is developing close ties with the competent au-thorities (Ministries - Safety Committees).

Efectis France is the only company authorized by AFCEN to provide trainings about ETC-F (EPR technical codes for fire protection).
The objective of the Consultancy activity is to assess the fire performances of the building products or elements, without further testing.
This assessment can be a European EXAP, an expert judgment following a national regulation, or an “Avis de chantier” (french approval) for a single work which may require an onsite expertise.
From the very beginning of the project, Efectis France is supporting its customers (contractors, owners, installers, manufacturers) in this process and in their search of optimized solutions for a rapid conformity, and this for the sake of technical, economic and architectural compliances.
Efectis France is acting as an audit body for the controls (FPC) required to obtain the CE marking, a right to use the NF brand, or professional qualifications.
Being specialized in fire safety, our auditors are acting upon our Certification department’s request, but also for other notified bodies and certifiers.
