IntroductionIn 1991, Iijima discovered carbon nanotubes (CNTs) that are elongated fullerenes where the walls of the tubes are hexagonal carbon and often capped at each end.

Carbon Nanotubes

Micro-crystals with high aspect ratios of 1000 or more, although their diameter is close to molecular dimensions

Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNTs).

Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs)

Concluding Remarks

●The functionalization of CNT is still a subject of intense research, which generates continuous advances as well as novel materials.

●Offers “rediscovering” of old drug molecules and also offer new discovery and design options for new molecules.

●Anticancer and antibiotic carbon nanotube conjugates as well as antigen- presenting conjugates for the potential fabrication of vaccines and plasmid DNA complexes for construction of gene therapeutics.
