Summer Programs, Camps and Special Events

Camp Prime Time is a nonprofit corpora-tion established to provide a recreational opportunity in a wilderness setting for those families who have a child with special needs. Located over White Pass by Clear Lake in the Wenatchee National Forest, families stay in cabins, and eat hearty meals prepared by our volunteer staff from Equity Residential. Enjoy swimming, fishing, catching frogs, crafts, games, horseback riding, singing, an old fash-ioned campfire, or just relax in the beautiful surroundings. With prior arrangements, some individual dietary needs can be met. Parents are responsible for the supervision and medi-cal care of their own children. The Camp is approximately a two hour drive from JBLM.

Our EFMP session at Camp Prime Time will be July 20 - 22. Contact Nancy Dozier, Group Leader, at 253-967-9705 or [email protected] for further informa-tion. We are currently accepting applica-tions for the waitlist and require a com-pleted Camp application and a refundable $20 deposit. The ACS-EFMP is located in Waller Hall. The deposit check will be held until June and then sent on to Camp. Upon arrival at Camp, the family has the option of donating the money to Camp Prime Time or receiving a refund. Camp is free of charge to the families, although they must provide their own transportation to and from camp.

Camp “Lots of Fun” is a Day Camp for children and young adults ages 6-21 with disabilities through Pierce County Parks and Recreation. Registration begins on Monday, May 7, from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at the Lakewood Community Center. This Camp is limited to 90 campers on a first come, first served basis and fills up quite fast. This year, the Camp will run from July 9 through August 3, 9am through 2pm at Discovery Primary School, 1205 19th Ave in Milton. Cost for the 4 weeks is $220.
