General Rules & Regulation

1. Event Overview

Date 19th and 20th of December 2017

Time 8.00 am – 6.00 pm

Venue The Open University

Entries Closed On 13th December 2017

Entry Fees Rs.2000/= for each team

2. Rules & Regulation

The “GRAND SLICERS 2017” The Carrom Championship will be conducted in

accordance with the rules & regulations of the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka.

3. Participation

Universities may register men, women team for the championship and maximum 8 players

per men’s team and maximum 5 players for women’s team. Universities are allowed to

register two teams under each team event (ex: Men’s “A” Team and Men’s “B” Team)

4. Eligibility

Only full time internal registered students are eligible to participate.

5. Identity

University Identity Card/Students Record Books of each competitor should be produced

before start the event.

6. Entries

Entry forms need to be reached the Director/ Student welfare Division, The Open University

, Nawala , Nugegoda.

7. Competition Procedure

7.1 Men and Women Team Events

A match will be composed of three singles and two doubles for the men’s

Team and two singles and one double for the women’s Team. It shall

commence with singles and if no decision achieved doubles should be

followed.

A competitor may play one single and one double match. Competitors who

play in a single event shall not be permitted to combine together to play

doubles.

The captain should handover the team declaration, certified by the team

manager to the organizing Secretary to 15 minutes of the commencement of

the scheduled event. The declaration should consist of the order of play and

no further alteration will be permitted.

The matches will be played on the basis of 25 points or one-hour time limit

whichever comes first.

8. Tie Brake

If two or more teams’ equal winner will be decided on the base of,

9. TEC Meeting

A Technical Committee Meeting will be held on 19th December 2017 at 8.00 a.m.,The Open

University. Any issue on rules and regulations will be discussed at the TEC meeting.

10. Accommodation

Accommodation will be provided on request and should be informed one weeks prior to the

tournament. (on /before 12th December 2017)
