Pumped Sports Rewards Day We look forward to welcoming back Bastian and the team from Pumped Sports to run our Rewards Day on Wednesday December 2. Last year when the crew from Pumped Sports visited, we had a great time and were exhausted afterwards. Pumped Sports combine inflatable obstacles with some challenging physical activities to test our students. We have had a great year and we look forward to celebrating our successes with a bit of fun to finish off the term. Swimming Pool vouchers Mr Shane and Mrs Linda have been extremely supportive of our school’s Positive Behaviour for learning system and we have worked closely with them to create some pool entry vouchers. These vouchers can be purchased with student Yumbin tokens at school and exchanged at the pool for entry. This is a great concept to get our students to the pool over the holidays. It is going to be a hot break and I know that a bit of time in the water will be welcomed. Student leadership team 2021 Miss Bettiens and Mr Spencer had the difficult task of interviewing and choosing our school leaders for 2021. I believe they have made some very targeted and calculated decisions around our student leadership team for next year. It was with great pride that we had a record number of students, particularly in secondary school, apply for these positions. This shows an increasing interest in genuine voice within our school. At the start of 2021, I look forward to taking our leadership team away to complete their official leadership train- ing and start working in their new positions. Pumped Sports – Rewards Day We look forward to welcoming back Bastian and the team from

Pumped Sports to run our Rewards Day on

Wednesday December 2. Last year when the

crew from Pumped Sports visited, we had a great

time and were exhausted afterwards. Pumped

Sports combine inflatable obstacles with some

challenging physical activities to test our students.

We have had a great year and we look forward to

celebrating our successes with a bit of fun to finish

off the term.

Swimming Pool vouchers

Mr Shane and Mrs Linda have been extremely supportive of our

school’s Positive Behaviour for learning system and we have

worked closely with them to create some pool entry vouchers.

These vouchers can be purchased with student Yumbin tokens at

school and exchanged at the pool for entry. This is a great concept

to get our students to the pool over the holidays. It is going to be a

hot break and I know that a bit of time in the water will be welcomed.

Student leadership team 2021

Miss Bettiens and Mr Spencer had the difficult task of interviewing

and choosing our school leaders for 2021. I believe they have made

some very targeted and calculated decisions around our student

leadership team for next year. It was with great pride that we had a

record number of students, particularly in secondary school, apply

for these positions. This shows an increasing interest in genuine

voice within our school. At the start of 2021, I look forward to taking

our leadership team away to complete their official leadership train-

ing and start working in their new positions.

End of term 4 – 2021 calendar

Just a reminder that our final day for term 4 will be

Wednesday 09th December. Our next week and

a half will be extremely busy.

Reading My first year at Eidsvold State School has been extremely rewarding and I have really enjoyed the positive school and community culture. One of my favourite leisure based activities, apart from walking the spacious streets of Eidsvold, is read-ing a book. Reading can improve your vocabulary, but it can also take you on an adventurous journey. Below is one of my favourite story starters from Pobble365. Read the text then find the hidden picture that describes the setting in the newsletter. Good luck.

Motionless, she stood gazing down the never-ending tunnel. The track extended as far as the eye could see, encased by walls of brightest green. The trees that lined the way grew tall, reaching up and over, interlocking their spindly branches like fingers trapping whoever dared to walk this treacherous route. It was like looking down nature’s kaleidoscope.

Where did the path lead? She had dreamt of this moment, but in her dream she couldn’t remember what happened next.

There was only one way to find out; she bravely took a step forward...

Swimming Carnival – Friday 13th November On Friday 13th November we held our annual swimming carnival with the company of Abercorn State School. Firstly, I would like to thank all students who attended and participated in activities throughout the day. It was great to see so many students showing their team spirit and cheering others along. I would also like to thank Abercorn State School for joining us again this year. All Abercorn students should be very proud of their big efforts from a little school. It was this effort that lead them to again take home the Average Points per Student Shield for 2020, with an average of 11.67 points per student. Congratulations Abercorn students!

From Eidsvold State School, this year it was Leichhardt who won the overall Swimming Carnival Points for the day. This was a very close final points tally, with Flinders only one point behind them at the end of the day. Congratulations Leichhardt and to all students who were involved in the day.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation with the COVID-19 guide-lines and requirements. Although it meant things were a little different on the day, we were still able to run a successful day and give the students a great day.

Sports News: Miss Bettiens

It’s been a very busy few weeks for staff and students finalising assessment and report cards. I would like to congratulate those students who have finished their assessment and handed it in on time. You should be very proud of your efforts!

Last week our year 12 students, Ashton Wengel and Brady Roth finished their last days of schooling at Eidsvold State School. We would like to congratulate both boys on their gradua-tion and wish them all the best for a successful future.

Although our year 10 and 11 students have now also finished for the year, it is important that all other students from prep through to year 9 maintain their atten-dance through to the end (Wednesday December 9).

WOW! What a very eventful few weeks we have had. Year 5/6 have been busy little bees working very hard in completing all their assessments and handing them in on time. They have put in a huge amount of effort and should be very proud of themselves.

From Awards Morning Tea to Sports Carnivals, NAIDOC week to Year 12 Graduation, we have not stopped. I think I can speak on behalf of all the students and staff in saying, we are so lucky to attend and work at a school where we have many fun opportunities to learn and celebrate our successes in a wonderful atmosphere.

This term in English, we have been exploring narratives through novels and film. Below are some won-derful illustration of ‘The Lorax’ our talented students drew to accompany their writing.

With only a few weeks left, it is still important to make sure we continue attending school with our posi-tive attitudes ready to learn. Every day counts. A note went home on Wednesday in regards to our class Secret Santa. If your child would like to partici-pate please have them bring a gift that either a boy or girl would appreciate receiving. Homemade gifts are welcome and this activity is not compulsory. There will also be a class party on the same day (9th of December). We will discuss exactly what foods each student will be bringing in next week. If your child has any dietary requirements or allergies that the school is not aware of, please notify us.

Ngara,

With school holidays fast approaching, it is a timely reminder for students to remember the impor-tance of personal safety. Now would be a good time for parents to sit down and talk to their children about stranger danger and staying safe in public. There is no age limit for these chats, as it is just as important for the prep students as it is for the high school students. There is plenty of good advice on the Daniel Morcombe Foundation website https://danielmorcombe.com.au/

This will be my last newsletter article for the year, so I

would like to thank the staff, students, and parents

of Eidsvold School for the ongoing support

provided during the year and wish you all a

safe and relaxing holiday period.
