Next weekend throughout the diocese is Called By Name Sunday: an initiative of the Diocese of Austin Vocations Office that celebrates God’s call to each of us to follow Him in a particular way. At every parish in the diocese, our priests will share the story of their voca-tion to the priesthood - how he listened and responded to God’s call. As part of this special weekend, we are asking you to partici-pate in two ways: 1) Be open to God’s call. For those who are able – be open the call to the priesthood or religious life. These vocations are beautiful gifts both to the Church and to those who are called. So be open, and be courageous if you hear the call. 2) Spend time this week thinking about someone in our parish who God may be calling to the priesthood or reli gious life - someone with the qualities that you would want in your priest or religious sister. Next week at all of the Masses, we will have envelopes in the back of the church for you to share that person’s name and contact infor-mation. Bishop Vásquez and our Vocation Director, Fr. Greg Ger-hart, will then send them a letter of encouragement along with Fr. Greg’s contact information should they wish to follow up. God is the one who calls, but He often uses our voice of encourage-ment and invitation to do so. With your help, we can make this Called By Name Sunday a great success that will bear fruit in our diocese for generations to come. Thank you for your openness and generous participation.
El próximo fin de semana a través de toda la diócesis se celebra Do-mingo del Llamado: una iniciativa de la Oficina de Vocaciones de la Diócesis de Austin que celebra el llamado de Dios a cada uno de no-sotros a seguirlo de una manera en particular. En cada parroquia de la diócesis, nuestros sacerdotes compartirán la historia de su vocación al sacerdocio: el cómo escuchó y respondió al llamado de Dios. Como parte de este fin de semana especial, les estamos pidiendo que par-ticipen de dos maneras: 1) Estén abiertos al llamado de Dios. Para aquellos que puedan - estén dispuestos para aceptar el llamado al sacerdo cio o la vida religiosa. Estas vocaciones son dones bellos tan to para la Iglesia como para los que son llamados. Así que estén abiertos, y tengan el valor si escuchan el llamado. 2) Dediquen tiempo esta semana a pensar en alguien de nuestra parroquia a quien Dios pueda estar llamando al sac erdocio o la vida religiosa - alguien con las cualidades que les gustaría a ustedes en su sacerdote o hermana religiosa. La semana que viene, en todas las Misas, tendremos sobres en el Nar-thex para que compartan el nombre y la información de contacto de esa persona. El Obispo Vásquez y nuestro director de vocaciones, el Padre Greg Gerhart, les enviarán después una carta dándoles ánimo junto con la información de contacto del Padre Greg en caso de que deseen hacer un seguimiento. Dios es el que llama, pero a menudo utiliza nuestra voz de aliento e invitación para hacerlo. Religious education classes will begin on Sunday the 10th and Wednesday the 13th. Super Sunday for First Communion will be on Sunday, January 10th in the church. Super Sunday for Confirmation will be on Sun day, January 17th in the church. Las clases de educación religiosa comenzarán el domingo 10 y miércoles 13. El Domingo de Primera Comunión será el domin go 10 de enero en la iglesia. El Domingo de Confirmación será el domingo 17 de enero en la iglesia.

Sacramento del Matrimonio El ministerio de matrimonios Ágape presenta clases pre-paratorias dos veces al año para recibir el Sacramento del Matrimonio.
