The 80/20 Rule

The 80/20 Rule is one of the most useful principles in Time and Life Management. It is named after its originator, Vilfredo Pareto, who was an Italian economist.

He first suggested this principle in 1895 when he ob-served that most of the income in Italy (about 80%), was received by only 20% of Italians.

Hereby, Pareto found out that all of the economical activities follow the same rule. For ex-ample, 80% of profit come from 20% of customers. 80% of com-plaints come from 20% clients.Similarly, 80% of sales are made by 20% of sales staff.

From a business point of view, finding the 80/20 ratio plays a critical role in order to maximize per-formance. The 80/20 principle however, does not only apply to businesses. If we look deeper, we realize it in other aspects of life as well.

In general, 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. This means that if you have 10 activities in your list, 2 of them are equal to, or even more im-portant than the other 8.

Now, let’s conclude that if any activity in your list takes the

same time, still 1 or 2 of them will be more profitable for you than others.

Everyday some of our time is spent procrastinating and work-ing inefficiently doing activities

that provide us very little benefit. We watch old TV shows over and over again. We spend hours surfing

entertaining websites and social networks without thinking about what we will gain at the end of the day.

The most worth-while activities we can do are the hardest and most complicated ones. However, the benefit these types of activities carry are wonderful and crucial for living a successful life.

In general, 80% of the effects come from

20% of the causes.

style?

• before starting any activity or making any decision determine if it belongs to the 20% high prior-ity or the 80% less important group.

• Resist the temptation of doing easier and less important jobs first.• Remember that the hardest step is always the first one, starting. When you get used to struggling

with difficult issues first, you will be able to overcome laziness.• The truth is that in most cases doing hard and easy activities are equally time and energy con-

suming. Even though, the difference is in how you look at yourself and your performance. Always think of the result. The more you step forward, the more proud you will be.

Time management is actually life management. Make a serious decision today to spend more time on the more profitable activities.

Remember: 80% of the activities you can do will not bring you any success. However, 20% of them will lead you to prosperity. Find them, stick to them, and be proud of yourself.

5 Tips To Observe

We all know someone who tends to be always very lucky. Th ese people are only lucky because they happen to forget bad memories easily and give up a lot less oft en. And because of this, success just fl ies their way! Th is is only because they are working harder than others, therefore being more successful.

You might think they are better at predicting the future than you are. But we’re very glad to say you are wrong! Prediction does nothing to lead to suc-cess. But the 5 easy tips do!

1: Successful people have nothing to do with luck!

Why? Because you can’t control luck, but you can control the actions and steps you take in life. Th erefore re-member, always think and plan ahead before you do anything.

2: We all have some rough times!

Th ere are a few ways you can gain suc-cess, and the most important one is to learn how to solve the problems that block your way. You just need to fi nd

give up, we are a failure. It’s as easy as that. Th ink about it; do you have a higher chance of meeting success when you give up easily or when you work harder to get rid of the feeling of fear and continuing? Once you start thinking this way, you will be more enthusiastic about your work and will have a higher chance of reaching success.

4:Best chances come to you from others.

Most of the time best ideas come to successful people’s mind from

others’ dissatisfaction. It is not copmplicated at all. you only need to live more vigilant.

5: Luck comes to a person’s way that is well-prepared.

Once you take a step in doing something, you are automatically increasing your chance of being suc-cessful. So remember, success won’t come your way, you need to reach out and catch it yourself.

the best solution. Remember, even most successful people have had rough times. It’s not only you!

3: Most people give up because of the fear of being a failure!

Many of us don’t know that when we

Th inking About Buying

Your First Home?

How long you plan to live in the home.If you purchase a home and get a job transfer or decide to move aft er only a short time, you may end up paying money in order to sell it. Th e value of your home may not have appreciated enough to cover the costs that you paid to buy the home and the costs that it would take you to sell your home.Th e length of time that it will take to cover those costs depends on various economic factors in the area of the home. Most parts of the country have an average of 5% ap-preciation per year. In this case, you should plan to stay in your home at least 3-4 years to cover buying and selling costs. If the area you buy your home in experiences an economic upturn, the length of the time to cover these costs could be shortened, and the opposite is also true.

How long the home will meet your needs. What features do you require in a home to satisfy your lifestyle now? Five years from now? Depending on how long you plan to stay in your home, you’ll need to ensure that the home has the amenities that you’ll need. For example, a two-bedroom dwell-ing may be perfect for a young couple with no children. However, if they start a family, they could quickly outgrow the space. Th erefore, they should consider a home with room to grow. Could the basement be turned into a den and extra bedrooms? Could the attic be turned into a master

Th inking about purchasing a home of your own? Keep these critical considerations in mind:

suite? Having an idea of what you’ll need will help you fi nd a home that will satisfy you for years to come.

Your fi nancial health - your credit and home aff ordability. Is now the right time fi nancially for you to buy a home? Would you rate your fi nancial picture as healthy? Is your credit good? While you can always fi nd a lender to lend you money, solid lenders are more sceptical if your credit history is not good. General-ly, a couple of blemishes on a credit report will make you a good credit risk and could qualify you for the lowest interest rates. If you have more than a couple of blemishes on your report, lenders like Quicken Loans may still provide you with a loan, but you may just have to pay a higher interest rate and fees. Some say that you should refrain from bor-rowing as much as you qualify for because it is wiser not to stretch your fi nancial boundaries. Th e other school of thought says you should stretch to buy as much home as you can aff ord, because with regular pay raises and increased earning potential, the big payment today will seem like less of a pay-ment tomorrow. Th is is a decision only you can make. Are you in a position where you expect to make more money soon? Would you rather be conservative and fairly certain that you can make your payment without stretching fi nancially? Make sure that whatever you do, it’s within your comfort zone.

Where the money for the transaction will come from.Typically homebuyers will need some mon-ey for a down payment and closing costs. However, with today’s broad range of loan options, having a lot of money saved for a down payment is not always necessary - if you can prove that you are a good fi nancial risk to a lender. If your credit isn’t stellar but you have managed to save 10-20% for a down payment, you will still appear to be a very good fi nancial risk to a lender.

Th e ongoing costs of home ownership.Maintenance, improvements, taxes and insurance are all costs that are added to a monthly house payment. If you buy a condominium, townhouse or in certain communities, a monthly homeowner’s as-sociation fee might be required. If these ad-ditional costs are a concern, you can make choices to lower or avoid these fees. Be sure to make your realtor and your lender aware of your desire to limit these costs. If you are still unsure if you should buy a home aft er making these considerations, you may want to consult with an accoun-tant or fi nancial planner to help you assess how a home purchase fi ts into your overall fi nancial goals.

Sun screen is designed to protect the skin from sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiation, also known as UVR. It also protects the skin from UVB, which is a UVR that can cause the skin to burn. Most people like to call it ‘sun burn’.

Many people have gotten skin cancer because of the amount of harmful eff ects they attract to their skin by being in the sunlight exposure for too long a day. Th erefore sun screen can also prevent from diff erent types of skin cancers.

Th e daily use of sun screen can help reduce the amount of harmful eff ect of UVB and UVA (UVR that leads to pre-mature aging in both men and women) on DNA. Sun screen also helps keep the skin soft and fi rm.

A word of advice : Always use sun screen, sun block, block out, sun cream, sun lotion, or whatever you like to call it, 30 minutes before you expose your body to the sun!

“Beauty is the promise of happiness.”

24.1% of Canadian adults over the age of 30 are suffering from obesity, ac-cording to data released from StatsCan on March 02, 2011.

This has caused a higher rate of diabetes and heart disease. In order to stay away from obesity, as you may already know, you need to follow a healthy eating plan and to exercise regularly. However it is not always easy to stay on track.

In order to simplify following these daily plans, it is important to set yourself realistic goals. Some of these goals could include:

1. Trying new foods and recipes. Once you have picked out an exciting meal for yourself, you won’t have to overeat to feel satisfied.

2. Watching what you eat. This doesn’t mean starving yourself. While picking out the appropriate food for yourself, it is important to not

think about portion size, because that way, your plan will lead to failure. It’s not all about calories, fat grams, or carbohydrates. You can feel satisfied all day long if you include a mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and some dessert.

3. Following an exercise plan that you can carry on. You should not feel forced to exercise. Therefore, your exercise plan should

be enjoyable. Whether it means taking a walk with your friends, joining a gym, or taking a bike ride around in your neighbour-hood, you should be active for at least 20 minutes a day.

4. Getting help from others. Ask your friends or family for support. This might include them joining you on your diet or at least encouraging you to take it a little bit further, by trying new things

and putting a bit more effort into your daily plans.

The Story Of A ButterfltyThe Story Of A ButterfltyThe Story Of A ButterfltyOne day, a small opening

appeared in a cocoon; a man sat and watched for the butterfl y for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.

Th en, it seems to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could not go any further. So the man decided to help the butter-fl y: he took a pair of scissors and opened the cocoon.

Th e butterfl y then emerged easily. But it had a withered body, it was tiny and shriveled wings. Th e man continued to watch because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would open, enlarge and expand, to be able to support the butterfl y’s body, and become fi rm.

Neither happened! In fact, the butterfl y spent the rest of its life crawling around with a withered body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fl y.

What the man, in his kindness and his goodwill did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfl y to get through the tiny open-ing, were God’s way of forcing fl uid from the body of the butterfl y into its wings; so that it would be ready for fl ight once it achieved its free-dom from the cocoon.

Sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in our life.If God allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles, we wouldnot be as strong as we could have been. Never been able to fl y.

“Th e ideal man bears the accidents of life with dignity and grace, making the best of circumstances.” Aristotle
