It is timely that I remind you that the Kiss and Ride zone on Jubilee Road is a 2 minute only parking area. For the safety of our students and families crossing Jubilee Rd, please do not queue across the bus zone or the crossing zone when waiting to access the Kiss and Ride zone. In an effort to move the line along as quickly as possible, our duty teachers will ask drivers to move out of the Kiss and Ride zone if they have been waiting for longer than 2 minutes. Your cooperation in following instructions from staff is grately appreciated. Please remember that costly fines do apply if you do not obey the parkig signs. More importantly, please remember that the safety of our students and visitors is our priority. ENDEAVOUR

Term 1 Week 4 22nd February 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

Like me, you may have noticed that we have

recently had a lot of visits from our local council

parking inspectors on Jubilee Rd. It is timely that I

remind you that the Kiss and Ride zone on Jubilee

Road is a 2 minute only parking area. For the safety

of our students and families crossing Jubilee Rd,

please do not queue across the bus zone or the

crossing zone when waiting to access the Kiss and

Ride zone. In an effort to move the line along as

quickly as possible, our duty teachers will ask drivers

to move out of the Kiss and Ride zone if they have

been waiting for longer than 2 minutes. Your

cooperation in following instructions from staff is

grately appreciated. Please remember that costly

fines do apply if you do not obey the parkig signs.

More importantly, please remember that the safety

of our students and visitors is our priority.

World Thinking Day

Today, three of our Girl Guides came to school in

their Guides uniforms to celebrate World Thinking

Day. This is an initiative run by the Guides to

encourage us to think about those in our community

that need our assistance. Congratulations to Isobel,

Madison and Amy for spreading the message about

World Thinking Day.

Out of Uniform Day

Friday, 1st March 2019

At EVPS we believe it is important to support our

community partners when they are doing wonderful things.

As such, we are supporting our local Lions Club, who are

raising funds for the Childhood Cancer Research

Foundation.

On Friday, 1 March our students are invited to come to

school out of uniform and bring in a gold coin to donate to

the Lions Club. All money raised will be changed into 5 cent

pieces, by the Lions Club, to help them achieve their world

record attempt at the longest line of money.

We hope that you will join us in supporting the Lions Club in

raising funds for Childhood Cancer research.

Library Matters

Home borrowing starts in week 5 for K-2 students who have returned their permission notes.

Students in years 3-6 will be sent home a permission note once the K-2 program is running smoothly.

Many thanks to our wonderful parent volunteers who have offered their time to help run this

program.

An initial roster has been sent home via the students.

Please remember that all volunteers who come into the school must have completed all the

necessary requirements in keeping with the department regulations.

All home reading volunteers are invited to join me in the library for a home borrowing meet and

orientation session.

This is intended to explain the program in detail, avoid common mistakes and meet each other.

On Wednesday 27 February at 2.30pm, in the library.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Helen Styan

School Banking Information Session

Elermore Vale Public School is excited to offer the Commonwealth Bank School Banking

program to all students. School Banking day is held each Wednesday.

We will be holding a School Banking Information Session at our school on Wednesday 27th

February, from 8.45 – 9.30am out the front of the multi-purpose room. Please join us and find

out more about the School Banking program and how your child can get involved.

If you are interested in opening a Commonwealth Bank Youthsaver Account for your child,

you can visit www.commbank.com.au/schoolbanking and click on the link to open a

Youthsaver Account. A School Banking representative will be available at the Information

Session to show you how you can do this. In order to verify yourself and your child, you will

need your driver’s licence and your child’s birth certificate, but if you don’t have these with

you on the day, you can complete verification online at home.

Thank you to our School Banking Co-ordinator

We would like to thank Manning and Rhonda Hipwell who have volunteered as our School Banking

Co-ordinators since July 2017. Manning’s last day was on Wednesday 20th February.

Our School Banking volunteers are vital in helping teach students the importance of saving regularly. If you can help

during this time, we would be most grateful. Please contact the P&C at [email protected] or leave your details at

the office and our banking representatives will be in touch soon.

NSW Election BBQ & Cake Stall

The P&C will be hosting a BBQ and Cake Stall for the NSW State Election at the school on Saturday, 23rd March.

Are you available? Can you help? We need volunteers to cook and/or serve at the BBQ and run the Cake Stall. We also

need help with donations of baked goods - cakes, slices, biscuits or muffins – for our cake stall.

If you can help in any way, please let Jenny Hall know via the office or email [email protected] as soon as

possible.

And…. tell all your friends and family, we’d love to see them here at EVPS on Election Day!

What We Have Been Doing in OSHC

We have been having a blast in OSHC! The children attending our program have already made

great new friendships, learnt more than ever before and best of all, have been having heaps of

fun. There’s been a variety of different activities and games that children of all ages have been

engaging in.

The children have been creating salt dough ornaments, pipe cleaner bouquets and friendship

awards. They have also been building pyramids, beyblades and hotels with the lego. The

children participate in group games like Pac-Man, Silent Ball, Red Rover and Sleeping Lions.

Every day we aim to deliver a high-quality program that interests and engages your child, whilst

getting to know them. That’s why our program is tailored to and guided by the needs of the

children attending our service. In OSHC, your child can enjoy and engage in activities ranging

from indoor and outdoor play time fun, constructive and manipulative play, as well as creative

time. There’s also quiet time for homework, reading and relaxation.

Meet Our Team

We’re here to make OSHC the best experience possible for your child and family. If you have

any questions about the program, feel free to drop by, meet our team and see what happens in

our program first hand.
