HELIO-STROB

The light of the stroboscopes of the HELIO-STROB series are significantly improved by extremely short light impulsesof constant brightness.

Even the smallest parts are depicted pin sharply – without any motion blurs.

The physical principle is rather simple:The physical principle is rather simple:

Rapid, uniformly repetitive movements, such as rotation or vibration, are illuminated by a stroboscope with a flash frequency adapted to the rate and always at the same position. The observer perceives an apparently standing picture.

How to create a standing picture:How to create a standing picture:

HELIO-STROB

How to measure:

Highlight the object with the maximum possible frequency / object speed. Then continuously reduce the frequency until the object seems to have come to a standstill. Now you can read the measured number of revolutions on the display of the stroboscope.

Our recommendation for mobile measuring:- LED Stroboscope HELIO-STROB micro

Should you need even more light:- TURBO-STROB-- HELIO-STROB BETA

How to verify your measurements:

Double the measured flash frequency. When measuring correctly the section of the object respectively the mark on the object is visible twice. If the object or the marks on the object appear only once, there is an error of measurement. The effective flash frequency is a multiple in whole numbers.

Our tip:With a single keystroke you activate the handy With a single keystroke you activate the handy frequency divider and multiplier of the HELIO-STROB micro.

What to do if the number of revolutions or the frequency is higher than the measurement range of the stroboscope:

YYou will seldom if ever get into this situation as the ELMED stroboscope offer - depending on the model - a maximum flash frequency of 315 Hz to 2000 Hz (this corresponds to 18900 min-1 to 99000 min-1).

Stroboscopes can also measure higher frequencies.HoweveHowever, in this case the mark on the object appears several times.

An external trigger signal can be supplied over the jack “external impulse“. Thus the stroboscope is automatically synchronised with the moving object. The frequency of the signal defines the flash frequency of the stroboscope. External trigger signals can be generated by External trigger signals can be generated by i.e. a machine control or an optic or magnetic encoder. The results are pin sharp pictures even under different speeds without manual adjustment of the stroboscope.

Observation of a motion sequence from any possible angle:

By means of the function “phase shift” you can define or change the observed section respectively the exact moment within a repetitive motion (rotation, vibration, etc.).

Slowly you reach your goals faster...

HELIO-STROB

You want to observe the entire motion sequence of a test object?

That’s how it works:

Highlight the object with the maximum possible frequency / object speed. Then continuously reduce the frequency until the object seems to have come to a standstill.Subsequently, increase the flash frequency until the object moves in the desired speed.

You want the object to move in the opposite direction?opposite direction?

Slowly reduce the flash frequency until the oppositely directed motion adjusts to the desired speed.

How does the slow motion effect function when the flash frequency is controlled by an external trigger?

The HELIThe HELIO-STROB BETA A3 has a standard slow motion function. With an external impulse, positive or negative values (=direction of motion) can be adjusted to get the desired slow motion effect. (The range of the so-called beat frequency is between –5 Hz and 5 Hz).The selected value is recorded and is thus The selected value is recorded and is thus retained, even if other device functions are activated or the stroboscope is switched off. The slow motion function is also available (optional) for the HELIO-STROB BETA in standard version.
