Up-and-Coming Program!!

- Elmira finished the 2013-2014 Season with a record of 10-15, (5-9 in the Empire 8). This past season was the most successful one in eleven years!!

- Elmira finished the 2013-2014 season tied for 15th place in fewest turnovers for the year.

- Neil Randolph ’15 finished in the top-100 in the country in terms of points per game (18.4).

- Team finished 2nd in the conference in scoring defense, only giving up 69.1 points per game.

- Finished 3rd in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage defense.

- Finished 2nd in the conference in 3-point field goals made (7.5).

- Led the conference in Free Throw Percentage

- Led Conference in Assist-to-turnover ratio

Team Diversity

- Our team is made up of players ranging from three different countries, including: The United States, Canada, and Ireland.

- We have players from nine different states in our program.

- We offer an out-of state award worth $3,000 a yea for recruits, who visit before January 31.

Elmira Basketbal l Experience

- Our players get the opportunity to work our various basketball camps and clinics throughout the year.

--We do community service projects throughout the Elmira and Horseheads community.

- Our team adopted a section of interstate 86, and we routinely clean the highway as a team.

 

What  do  you  want  to  get  out  of  your  college  basketball  experience?  

Head  Coach  Randie  Torgalski  

Randie Torgalski just finished his sixth season as Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Administrative Assistant at Elmira College. During his six seasons at the helm of the Soaring Eagles, Torgalski has coached four Empire 8 All-Conference selections as well as two 1,000-point scorers.

As an undergraduate, Torgalski was a four-year member of the Men’s Basketball program at the University of Rochester, where in his final season he was named Team Captain and garnered All-League honors. Torgalski left Rochester in 1999 ranked second in YellowJackets history with 519 assists and currently ranks third all-time. He also played on two NCAA Tournament teams and one ECAC Tournament team in his career.
