Click, Send & Profit
In this training, I am going to show you how to profit from your email list. The
training consists of four sections. In Section 1, I’ll provide you with an overview of
email marketing. In Section 2, I’ll go over subject lines. Section 3 will cover the
email’s body and Section 4 will go over profiting from email.
Let’s begin with section 1.
4
Section 1 – Email Sending 101
Email marketing will allow you to collect targeted leads. You can segment your
leads and then send emails to each segment. You can then build a relationship with
your market and generate repeat sales.
How it Works
Email marketing is a relatively simple process. First, you will sign up with an
autoresponder like AWeber, GetResponse or iContact.
Once you sign up, you will create an opt-in form. You will put the form on your site
and use it to collect leads.
You will boost opt-ins by offering an incentive like a free PDF in exchange for
signups.
5
You will build the list, and then promote to the list. Basically, you will send out
emails to your list. Some emails will include information, and other emails will
include links to affiliate products.
Now that you know the basics, let’s look at getting your emails opened.
Getting Emails Opened
Getting people to open your emails is the most important part of email marketing. If
you can’t get opens, people won’t see your marketing messages. That means they
won’t click on any links and they won’t buy your products.
The key to getting a good open rate is having a good subject line. You need a
captivating subject line that will get people to open the email. You can come up with
subject lines on your own, or you can use some subject lines that come with affiliate
offers. Keep in mind that if you use a subject line that comes with an affiliate offer,
some people will have already seen the subject line. Because of that, they might not
open it. With that in mind, it’s a good idea to come up with your own subject lines.
I’ll cover this in greater depth later in this training.
Getting Clicks
Once the email is opened, you want people to click on the links so they will buy your
offer. In order to have a good click-through-rate, the body of your email needs to be
compelling. It needs to create curiosity and scarcity. You also want to be vague so
the reader will click the link to find out more. Additionally, you need to include a
call to action so the reader knows that he needs to click on the link.
I’ll give you more information on this later in the training. For now, though, it’s
important that you understand how the process works.
Now let’s look at testing. You will use testing to get the best results from your email
marketing campaign.
6
Testing
There are three things that you will need to test. You need to test your:
Open Rate
You will need to track how many people are opening your emails versus how many
people are ignoring them. You can use analytics inside of your email marketing
platform to do this. If your open rate is low, test different subject lines. If the open
rate is high, move on to testing the click-through-rate.
Click-Through-Rate
You need to track how many people are clicking the links in your email versus how
many people are simply opening and closing the email without clicking the links.
You can use the analytics in your email management program to determine your
click-through-rate.
If your click-through-rate is low, you will need to test out different email bodies. If it
is high, you can move on to testing conversions.
Conversions on the Sales Page
You need to track the number of people who land on your offer and buy it, versus
the number of people who go to your offer page but don’t make a purchase. That’s
referred to as a bounce. If you are an affiliate, your affiliate network will measure
this for you.
Open rate Click-through-rate Conversions on the sales page
7
If you’re not an affiliate, you will have to use software to track your conversions on
your sales page. You will put the software’s code on your “Buy” page. If you want
some free software, you can use Google Analytics. Visual Website Optimizer is a
good paid option. It has some extra features, including split testing.
Now that you know the basics, you’re ready to move on to the next section, where I
will cover email subject lines.
8
Section 2 – Email Subject Lines
There are three types of subject lines you can use to get higher open rates. They are:
Let’s look at each of these in greater detail.
Time Sensitive Subject Lines
This type of subject line creates a sense of fear or missing out. It can also create a
sense of scarcity.
You want to use phrases like:
These all create a sense of urgency and make the reader act quickly so he won’t
miss out on an opportunity.
Time sensitive subject lines Vague subject lines Subject lines that ask a question
Last chance Last call Doors closing Expiring soon
9
Examples of Time Sensitive Subject Lines
I’m going to go over some examples of time sensitive subject lines so you will know
how to use them.
Some examples are:
It’s important that your content matches up with the subject line. Thus, you need to
come up with time sensitive material to put in the body of the email. If you don’t,
people will stop trusting you.
Vague Subject Lines
You will use vague subject lines to create a sense of curiosity. Curiosity can lead to
high open rates, so this is a really good technique.
You want to use phrases like:
Last Chance, Doors Closing at Midnight You Have to See This – Hurry (EXPIRES SOON!) I can’t Believe How This Girl is Making Money (LINK
EXPIRES AT MIDNIGHT) I Can’t Believe He Released This Video…Last Chance to
Watch
This is really weird This is crazy You won’t believe I bet you didn’t know
10
Examples of Vague Subject Lines
While you can really play around with this concept and find your own subject lines
that work, I do want provide you with some examples.
Some examples are:
Subject Lines that Ask a Question
Questions are great subject lines, because readers instinctively want to know the
answer, find out the answer, or provide the answer.
You can ask a direct question, like “did you know?” or “can you help?” Be sure to
make it as personal as possible so people will feel as if you are asking a direct
question.
Examples of Question Subject Lines
Some examples are:
Notice that these are also vague. Thus, you will pique people’s curiosity.
Now you’re ready to move on to the next section, where I will go over the email
body.
You Won’t Believe This CRAZY Video This is the WEIRDEST Thing I’ve Ever Seen I Bet You’re Doing This Wrong
Have You Heard About This? Can You Help Me with Something? Why Are You Emailing Me? Are You Still Interested?
11
Section 3 – Email Body
There are three types of emails that do well. They are:
Let’s look at each of these in greater detail.
Done-for-you emails Mistake emails Secretive emails
12
Done-For-You Emails
These emails are particularly relevant to the internet marketing niche. People who
want to make money online are often looking for a simple solution. Internet
marketing is basically a simple process, but there are a lot of components, like
making a squeeze page and building an email list. With that in mind, you can
provide done-for-you offers or training in your emails.
In order to understand this concept, let’s look at a sample email.
Mistake Email
If you send this type of email, you will basically talk about a mistake you made. It
will create a sense of curiosity and attract attention, since people will want to see if
you fixed the mistake.
Writing about mistakes is a good way to get your emails opened and increase your
click-through-rate. Thus, if you sent out the wrong link, forgot to record a webinar
or did something else, let the readers know, and then tell them what you did to fix
it.

Secretive Email
People like to be a part of a secret (especially when it’s a money making loophole),
and they like shortcuts that other people don’t know about. Secrecy will create more
curiosity. It will also make people feel empowered, since they will essentially be
getting inside information.

money from emails.

Section 4 – Email Profits
In this section, I’m going to explain how to profit from emails. First, you need to set
up an autoresponder.
Email Autoresponder
An email autoresponder will collect email addresses and send out emails for you.
You can segment your lists so you can have separate lists for different interests.
There are lots of different autoresponders out there, but I’m going to talk about
AWeber in this training.
What is AWeber?
AWeber is basically an online email management system. You can use it to create
forms to put on your website and social network accounts, and then when people
sign up to your list, the information will go to AWeber.
Then, you can set up emails to go out to people automatically. Additionally, you can
type and send emails immediately.
16
You can track and manage your subscribers from AWeber. You can look at
subscribers, purchases, click-through-rates, opens and more.
If you want to sign up for AWeber, go to Aweber.com. You can get a $1 free trial.
Once the trial is over, you will have to pay $19 a month.
After you sign up, spend some time looking at the training videos provided.
After you do that, you’ll be ready to find offers to promote. You will put links to the
offers in your emails.
You can find offers on affiliate networks.
Find Offers to Promote
ClickBank is one of the most popular affiliate networks available. It has a ton of
products that you can promote to your list. Every time someone clicks on one of your
links and buys a product, you’ll earn a commission.
Before you can start benefiting from ClickBank, you need to create an account. Go
to ClickBank.com and click “Sign Up” at the top of the page.
Then, fill out the sign up form. Near the bottom, you’ll see a box for your account
nickname. Choose something generic like “Index554.” The reason for that is your
username will actually show up in the affiliate link.
Once you fill out the form, ClickBank will send you the log in information. Then,
you can log in and go to ClickBank’s marketplace.
When you get to the marketplace, you’ll see a list of categories on the left hand side
of the page. These categories all contain products you can market.
If you want to search through the most popular products on ClickBank, just go to
the search bar that says “Find Products.” Don’t type anything into the search bar.
Just hit the search button. Then, a list of the most popular products will come up.
You can also go to the sort bar and sort results using different factors, such as
average rebill total.
The Truth About Abs is one of the most popular products on ClickBank. Let’s say
you wanted to promote it. You would click “Promote.”
17
Then, a box will pop up. You’ll need to put your account nickname into the first box.
Next, there’s a box for a tracking ID. You can use this box if you’re planning on
promoting an offer on several different websites. That way, you’ll know which sites
are making the sales. However, you don’t have to put a tracking ID into the box.
Next, you’ll click “Create.” Once you do that, you’ll be taken to a new page with your
hoplink. This is the link that will track your sales. You’ll use it in your marketing
emails. If people click on it and make a purchase, the purchase will be credited to
your account.
Copy that link into a web browser and take a look at it. As you can see, it’s a big
link, and it’s not very attractive. Fortunately, there are a couple of things you can
do to make the link look better.
First, let’s go to TinyURL.com. Once there, paste your affiliate link into the box.
Then, make a custom alias if you wish. For example, if you were promoting a muscle
building product, your custom alias could be “GetRipped2Day.”
Now, you have a new link that you can use. It’s smaller, but it has “tinyURL.com” in
it.
The next option is to purchase a domain and hosting plan, and then forward your
domain to your affiliate URL. Forwarding is relatively easy, and you can find
everything you need online. For example, if you want to purchase and forward a
NameCheap domain, just go to Google and search “forward NameCheap domain.”
Lots of resources and information will come up.
Once you forward your domain, you’ll be able to send people directly to your offer.
Just put the domain name in your emails, and then people will go directly to the
offer.
Now, it’s time to set up a website. You will use this site to collect email addresses
and advertise products.
18
Set Up Your Website
While there are lots of places that sell domains, I recommend using NameCheap.
Once there, you’ll see a search box. Type an idea for your domain into the search
box. The ideas should be related to your business. For example, if you’re in the
“weight loss” niche, you will be promoting offers related to weight loss. Thus, you
might want a domain name like “WeightLossSecrets.”
Once you find a domain name you want, click “Add to Cart” and purchase the
domain. Then, you’ll be ready to sign up for hosting.
Get Your Hosting Plan
You can host your website with a variety of companies. I recommend using
HostZilla. Go to HostZilla and click “Sign up Now.” Then, you’ll need to choose your
plan. You can sign up for the Starter Plan. Just find the plan and click “Order
Now.”
Then, you’ll be able to purchase a domain or transfer your domain. You should
already have a domain with NameCheap, so you will need to transfer your domain.
Thus, you’ll need to use the “Transfer My Domain” box.
19
Select “I’ll Update my DNS Settings.” Then, type the domain name in and click
“Continue.”
Next, you’ll need to enter your billing information and select the payment plan.
Look through the extras that are checked and remove the domain privacy, since
you’ll get it for free when you purchase a domain name from NameCheap.
Finish filling the form out and then click “Continue.” Then, HostZilla will email you
with your account information. The email will include your name servers. You’ll
need to input those servers into your NameCheap account. Once you do that, your
domain name will point to your hosting account.
Updating Your Name Servers in NameCheap
Sign into your NameCheap account and click on “Domains.” Then, select “Manage
Domains.”
Select the correct domain and then click “Transfer DNS to Webhost.”
Then, put your hosting information into the boxes and save your changes. Once you
do that, your NameCheap domain will point to your hosting account.
20
Using Your Hosting Account
Go to your cPanel and log into your hosting account. HostZilla will send you a link
to the cPanel in your welcome email.
Once you log into your hosting account, you can create an email account. Just click
“Email Accounts” and create a professional account.
After your email account is created, you can start adding files to your website. Go to
“File Manager” and select the website. Then, you’ll go to a new page, where you can
upload files for your website.
You can also go to your cPanel and click on the link that says “Set up Your FTP.”
Once there, you will need to download and install FileZilla. Then you’ll be able to
log in remotely and transfer files.
Once you install FileZilla, you will need to open it up and type in your website
address, username and password. Next, you’ll need to select “Quick Connect.” Then,
it will pull up your website so you can add files.
If you aren’t comfortable adding files to your website, post a job on Elance. You can
find someone to build your site for you. That will make the process much easier.
21
Adding WordPress to Your Website
After your site is up and running, you can add a blog to it. Then, you can use your
blog to market products in your niche.
Log into your cPanel and scroll down to the “Fantastico De Luxe” icon and click on
it.
Then, select “WordPress” and click “New Installation.”
Next, select your website and add a new directory. That way, your blog will show up
as a new page on your website. You can name the page anything you want, but
make sure the name is related to the blog’s purpose. For example, you might want
to name it “Domains for Sale.”
Fill out the rest of the form and then click “Install WordPress.”
Fantastico De Luxe will install Wordpress for you. Once it’s competed, click “Finish
Installation.”
You’ll be taken to a new page. Enter your email address. Your installation
information will be sent to this email address. You’ll also receive a link to the
control panel. Click on the link and log in to your blog’s dashboard.
Spend some time familiarizing yourself with the blog’s features. Also, if you have
experience with creating blogs, you can set your blog up. However, if you aren’t
22
familiar with the process, hire someone on Elance to do it for you. Be sure to have
the person put your domains, along with their prices, on your blog.
Finally, let’s look at outsourcing your emails.
Email Outsourcing
If you don’t want to write your own emails, you can outsource the job. Just go to
Elance.com. Elance has a lot of skilled freelancers who can write emails, or even set
your website up for you.
Sign up for an Elance account and post a job. Then, you will start getting some bids.
Look through the bids and pick one that will work well with your job. Then, hire the
person and start getting the work.
It’s Time to Click, Send, and Profit!
Now you’re finally ready to click, send and profit! Get everything set up and start
making money with email marketing.
