What is Embrace A Child in Tanzania (EAC)?

Is EAC tax deductible?

Embrace a Child in Tanzania (EAC) is a 501(3)© non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Dr. Linda Winkler, director of international outreach/special assistant provost of Wilkes University. The organization was createdto adopt children who have been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS in rural Tanzania.

Yes all donations made (money, food, drinks etc.) to EAC are tax-deductible.

Why donate? The children we sponsor are in need of a home, clothes, food and most importantlyeducation. Education allows the children to gain hope and break the cycle of struggle they live in. EAC hasadopted 3 children in the past and is working to sponsor a 4th child this year with your help.

What is the cost to sponsor a child?

If I wanted to write a check to donate to Embrace A Child in Tanzania, how would I do so?

Approximately $1,200 per year.

Who do I contact for further information or to make other donations??Dr. Linda Winkler at 570-408-4605 or [email protected]

570-408-4605

If you wish to donate to EAC, you would write a check out to the Northwest Pennsylvania Synod of ELCA. All donations to Embrace A Child are tax deductible.

Dear Dr. Winkler & Dr. Estwick,

This letter will confirm the terms of your engagement with the Integrated Media, Marketing, Communi-cations Agency (IMMC) at Wilkes University. As you may know, IMMC is a unique merger of advanced Mar-keting students and members of both Studio 20 and Zebra Communications. We are all very excited about this project and look forward to working with you and the Embrace A Child campaign. This letter outlines the duties of your IMMC account team in our working relationship with you during the time of this engagement.

At our meeting on Wednesday, January 15, we discussed the current status of Embrace a Child in Tanza-nia and the parameters of the project to be undertaken by the IMMC team. You indicated that IMMC could be helpful in identifying and informing the community of the effects of HIV/AIDS in Tanzania. We are aware that you would like to have a larger presence in the community in terms of raising awareness of the current HIV/AIDS situation in Tanzania, fundraise to benefit the education and quality of life for a few orphans, create a web presence, better identify EACs mission and vision and format a brochure or document that provides the general background information.

The IMMC Agency will complete the following with the main being to raise awareness of your campaign and the advantages to potential donors:➢ To raise awareness of the current HIV/AIDS situation in Tanzania➢ Plan, promote and host a Great Gatsby Gala (date and location TBD)➢ Raise $3,000 to support the education for sponsored children• Inquiretolocalinstitutions, businesses, andorganizationstomakedonationsinthefollowingforms:cash, food & beverages, etc. ➢ Create a mission and vision statement• TobepublicizedonEACsnewwebsiteandotherdocumentssuchasabrochure➢ Renew or develop new logo possibilitiesIt is also our understanding that we reach you via email, [email protected] and evene.estwick@wilkes.
