What is EMC?
• Ensures that the device neither causes, nor is susceptible to electromagnetic interference
• Emission – unwanted generation of electromagnetic energy
• Immunity – correct operation of the equipment in the presence of electromagnetic disturbances
EMC Serbia project is fundedby the European Union
Why is EMC important?
• It is essential part of product quality and safety
• Enables the product to carry “CE mark”• Declaration of conformity required for
placing products on harmonized EU market• Conformance testing required for other
markets as well (e.g. FCC rules in the USA)• Adopting of EU EMC directive in Serbia

Project Background
• Nonexistence of fully capable EMC testing labs in Serbia
• Greater expenses in the industry due to the need to test products abroad
• Obstacle to export products to the EU market
• Low level of know-how in the industry related to the EMC
• Low competitiveness of electronic industry• Adoption of the EU EMC Directive in Serbia
