The EMCOMAT 14S/14D

The EMCOMAT 14 is the smallest machine in the EMCOMAT series.

It takes the place of the EMCO classic Maximat Super 11CD.

The EMCOMAT 14 is a lathe for the most demanding needs:

with infinite speed adjustment, constant cutting speed (14D)

and an impressive 7,5 kW (10.1 hp) of drive power. This high per-

formance machine has the highest precision in a small space,

including optical, electrical and automobile workshops, in labora-

tories and also in the Formula 1.

The new EMCOMAT 14 comes with the followingoptions: chip protection door, machine case, multifax fast change holder, jaw chuck, live center,high-pressure coolant device.

For the safety of the operator, thechuck protection and wheel caps are monitored by an electric switch.

EMCOMAT 14S

The technology. The headstock is made of vibration absorbing, heavily ribbed cast iron. The rigid, large main

spindle runs in high-precision adjustable taper roller bearings with Camlock DIN 55029 S4 short taper connection. Reverse

gear unit in a totally closed construction. Scraped cogs and the axial motion when reversing increase operational reliabi-

lity and reduce vibration. Slides: longitudinal slide with no-play prismatic guide. Optimum guide ratio with the long guide.

The cross slide runs in a dove-tail guideway. Adjustment via pressure plate. Feed automatic or with handwheel. Both the

longitudinal and cross slides can be clamped. The upper slide with dove-tail guideway can be pivoted 360°. A feed lever

with safety lock prevents longitudinal and axial feed switch-through.

Infinite speed adjustment. The EMCOMAT 14 does not have a gear box. Electronic speed adjustment,

constant cutting speed on the 14D and an impressive 7,5 kW (10.1 hp) drive performance ensure the right speed and

most suitable torque throughout the entire torque range.

We have made one of the best conventional lathes even better.

The new EMCOMAT 17S/17D/20D. The ease of use and ergonomics

have been enhanced. On the D-versions the highly modern 3-axis

digital display has 99 tool positions, 99 contour points, constant

cutting-speed and infinite variable speeds. The quality and precision

of these machines are unchanged.

The perfect machine for small-series production. Excellent ergonomics and high repeataccuracy are key issues when you machine small series. Our customers appreciate EMCOMAT's automatic spindle brake,its infinite variable speed control, and its constant cutting speed. We ensure the best cutting performance and high driveefficiency – very helpful when things have to go fast (17D/20D). A mechanical collet chuck provides additional comfort.And anyone who has ever used the special positioning display function ”99 tool store“ will never want to go without itagain.

The diagonal ribbed machine bedensures good chip fall and top machinestability. The guide rails are hardenedand ground. 3-point support on themachine base.

Headstock

The headstock quality is tested usinga 3-D Zeiss gauge. The drive spindleruns in adjustable precision bearings.The diameter in the front bearing is70 mm (2.8“).

Bed and cross slide have a manualcentral lubricant supply. The X and Y axis are equipped with safetyhandwheels.

The D models have a permanent position display on the TFT screen for the bed,axial and upper slides. The bed-slide position is monitored by a high-precisionrack on the encoder. The cross-slide position is monitored by a glass gaugewith 0,001 mm precision, enabling the diameter to be set with extremely highprecision. The position of the upper slide is monitored by the direct drive of the encoder via the adjusting spindle. The features: constant machining speed,99 tools, 99 reference positions, basing point, remaining path, empirical/metric,radius/diameter display, single or total display for Z and Z0, languages: German,English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French, screen size 6.5“ color-TFT, 640 x 480 (VGA).
